Personality-
One word can be used to sum up Adam Lynch... unpredictable. On any given day he can be any given person, ultimately leading to personality shifts ranging from playful to lethal. The nature of Lynch's insanity has the clear indications of violent aggression, nihilism, multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, and exceptional narcissism. He has been shown to have a fundamental lack of empathy, and a personal system of morality that differs wildly from what is generally accepted. Even stranger, his perspective seems to be so divorced from reality that he frequently speaks as though he has an awareness of being a written character in a larger story.
While there have been attempts to pin down the underlying causes of Lynch's disorder, and to have a better understanding of his innate personality, they have been fruitless as of yet. His ability has included the capacity to store the memories and personality fragments of those whom he victimizes. Over millennia (allegedly) of consuming aspects of others it can be assumed that Adam Lynch has suffered a complete fracture of his ego and superego. He is an id-ridden being, driven by desire, with little to no inhibition. In brief moments of clarity, he may form the semblance of an ego in order to achieve a more long term goal, but outwardly Lynch seems to have psychologically collapsed under the weight of countless other psyches interfering with his own.
Attempts to cure and counsel Lynch have been met with gleeful and energetic noncompliance as he actively resists separation from his madness. It is assumed that he restructures his personality every day, becoming what he needs to be at any given time. He is a self proclaimed "agent of chaos and change" and prides himself in his capacity to disrupt society. While Lynch deems to take pleasure in murder, his ultimate goal is more social in nature. He is an enemy of stagnation, seeking to find ways to bring abject horror and fear into the public at large. It is ultimately left to be seen whether the madman engages in these actions in an attempt to "help" society or to punish it.
Perhaps the most peculiar aspect of Lynch's personality and his condition, is his capacity to gain a single-minded obsession towards particular individuals. He has proudly engaged in an ideology that people are not inherently good, and that under the right circumstances all people have the capacity to become as deprived and animalistic as himself. As an id-ridden being Adam Lynch considers himself to be a pure specimen, distilled from the trappings of society, he wishes to strip away the ethicality and morality of others, to bring them to his level. It is in this that nature of Lynch's insanity can be called into question. It is rare for any individual to express ALL the classic signs of sociopathy in addition to a single-minded focus, which has led to the assertion that perhaps Adam Lynch is "not as crazy as he wants people to think."
