"I must admit
I can't explain
Any of these thoughts racing
Through my brain
It's true
Baby I'm howlin' for you"
The events of this thread take place
three months after the thread Tears of Rage.
To quote the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sam Keaton's world had been flipped-turned upside down. The young man couldn't remember the last three months of his life whatsoever. Keaton's mind had been wiped, that much was clear. Or so Sam thought at least. The young man had a sense of clarity for the first time in what had seemed like a while. But then again... Did he really? Sam's mental state had deteriorated quite a bit. The young man couldn't quite tell if what he thought was real right now, truly was... Or if his mind was playing tricks on him once more. Sam had just about hit rock bottom... He'd spent two days racking his brain and trying to figure out what exactly had happened. The last thing Sam remembered was the touch of sunshine on his skin. He could still feel it. The warmth of its touch... The way it made him happy... It reminded Sam of Emma... And of what he'd lost.
Sam dwelled on Emma quite a bit for much of his time. He didn't know what had gone wrong... The young man didn't know how they'd come so far only to lose so much... It was funny in a sense. When Sam had first met Emma, she was the one in the mental hospital... Now, because of what had happened and what he'd lost, Sam sometimes felt as though he were the one who needed to be locked up... For all that he'd lost, Sam had gained something during the past three months. Although the young man had woken up one day with a sizable chunk of time missing from his life, Sam had also woken up with his sight back. Keaton had lost his vision in a freak accident during the ability blackout... Keaton had gotten used to being blind. Once his abilities had returned, Sam was able to see again in a sense utilizing an echolocation of sorts... However, now, Sam could see completely once more.
That in itself was throwing Sam for a loop. Before the three month time jump, Keaton remembered being blind. It was hard to adapt, but Sam had managed in his own way... Now, Sam could see as clear as day... In fact, Sam was pretty sure that he could see better than before. The young man wasn't sure what or how it had happened, but Sam's eyes had been healed completely. As if they were brand new, Sam's vision was practically 110%. Keaton's head was clouded. Although he could see perfectly, the young man's mind was foggy. As nighttime settled in, Sam found his way to a relatively seedy bar in the depths of downtown San Francisco. Keaton sat there at the bar, Blanton's on the rocks in his hand. The young man sipped his bourbon slowly for a moment and relished in the way the smooth liquor traveled down his throat. Keaton swirled his glass and watched as the brown liquor moved in a clockwise motion with the two remaining ice cubes in his glass following suit. Sam eyed his drink and smiled... Seeing that was wondrous for Sam right now... Keaton had always felt as though the little things in life often mattered most...
As he sat there, Sam's eyes were drawn to some big fella staring him down from one seat down from him at the bar. Sam scruffed his own beard for a moment and raised his eyebrow slightly. "The fuck you looking at?" Keaton's demeanor towards the man shifted as he glared at him. For a moment, Sam thought about pursuing the eventual conflict that would come from this further... For now, Sam ignored it. He had more pressing matters at hand... Like his bourbon. The young man smirked slightly as he eyed his drink again before sipping it.
