SPECIALS 1-0 RSF??
It hasn’t come as much of a surprise that the recent NEW law has had quite a bit of backlash and by bit I mean a whole shit tonne of chaos to follow. You have to ask yourself really, is this all worth it? Were the government right to concrete this law? or is this an act out of fear? Do they truly fear the things they do not understand and instead of trying to understand it, choose to make it impossible to carry on? Is this to be the start of a new war? I think so.
As it stands there have been protests across the nation. The first occurrence began at the Oscars when a special or possibly a group (we do not specifically know) managed to broadcast their message. The government may have slapped a ‘ban’ on specials, but they definitely failed to stop them from having a voice and their personal rights.
Three primary locations had been targeted for the protests, Los Angeles, New York and Vegas all of which are not only highly populated but also draw in attention from tourists which means that these messages have been well and truly received. But, despite wanting to have a voice, is it really worth the carnage and causalities? The fact is people have gotten hurt, properties and buildings destroyed and this will only continue.
I find myself biased on such events because I’m one to follow that whole ‘stand up for what you believe in’ ‘say it loud and say it proud’ and I don’t think anyone should be forced to silence themselves out of fear of rejection or worse still, punishment. These kinds of things are not things we choose at birth. You’re life is certainly what you make it but you don’t get to choose how you are created. We can’t choose to be special, or to be ‘normal’, these things just happen but they shouldn’t be ignored or dismissed.
I believe that specials should be able to stand up for themselves and not just accept this law. As I see it, this law has not been executed correctly. First and foremost it’s racist; they are discriminating against a particular type of person for being a certain way that they had no choice in. If this type of law was placed on others for merely being a different colour of skin or religion there would be an epic backlash.
So, why is it that so few people stand up for specials, even if they aren’t one themselves? What makes specials so bad or feared? Because the odd one or two cause trouble? You can’t just label a particular ‘type’as one in the same. If that’s how this works, then we’re going to have to look at every single race and religion as being one in the same. We can disregard who the individual may be and just see them for the colour of their skin, or their religion.
I do not condone this law because it’s wrong. I think precaution is necessary but to put all specials on the same boat and class them as ‘dangerous’ or ‘terrorists’ is just stupid. But, on the flipside the way things are going right now, the way these protests are being run and progressing makes me question my own beliefs. Because as it stands, specials aren’t doing themselves any favours by causing chaos in the cities. They are projecting themselves in a negative light and are now simply giving the government what they want.
However way I may see this situation, I’m still in favour of specials. No one should be ostracized or targeted for things they cannot change and if I’m honest, why would they want to change? Because some jackass in a suit tells you that it’s wrong to be that way? Screw that! I’d like to see him step out into the real world and experience what these people have to because he is in no position to say shit.
So what do you think about this situation?
