Angelis is a five-star, AAA five-diamond hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, located a block away from the Strip. It is owned and operated by Shawn Johessman, as part of the Johessman family's entertainment conglomerate. The building, originally a four-star hotel called the Olive Branch, was bought out and renovated by the Johessmans in March 2009. It is the only building in the Strip area to have survived the events of April Fourth; while Angelis only suffered minor damage, the rest of the buildings had to be completely rebuilt. It is currently managed by Dakari Johessman.
Outside and Reception
The exterior of the building is comprised of steel and glass, and a granite façade. The name "Hotel Angelis" is engraved into the awning. At 52 stories tall, it is one of the tallest buildings in Las Vegas, and is part of the city's famous skyline, though the building itself is one block away from the Strip.
The lobby is wide and spacious. It is decorated in a clean, modernist style, unlike many of the other hotels along the Strip. Hallways spread out to either side, and four glass elevators can be found across the floor. The reception desk, a round glass table, is to the left. Doors leading to staircases are located on either side of the lobby.
When you walk in, you are greeted by the concierge and any attendants that may be stationed in the lobby. If you have checked in, you will most likely be greeted by name. You will be treated with the utmost courtesy, and your luggage will be carried for you as you are checked in and escorted to your room.
First Floor
The first floor primarily contains two wings, in addition to some "staff only" areas. The right wing has mostly offices, including that of the hotel's executive manager, Dakari Johessman, and the middle managers. The offices are small but comfortable. Dakari's furniture is made of a rich cherry wood, and the seats in her office are quite comfortable. One wall boasts her degrees in law and the many awards Hotel Angelis has accumulated over the past year.
The fitness areas can also be accessed via this hallway. There is a large gym, a sauna, a spa, and a heated pool. Personal trainers are also available by request.
The left wing leads to the entertainment areas, including the jazz club known informally as the "Campbell Lounge," for its star singer, Rayne Campbell; several restaurants, including the Angelis Bistro; and the ballroom, at which many events are held. The ballroom is also very spacious and includes a stage large enough to seat a chamber orchestra, and can be arranged for dining only or to accommodate dancing. There is also a small casino on the first floor, an obvious nod to the city's popular culture, rather than a primary attraction.
Dining
Angelis houses many different restaurants, of many different styles. There is a Joel Robuchon's near the top of the hotel, and the Angelis bistro on the first floor. In between, there are buffets, cafés, exclusive clubs, and snack areas, in addition to the room service. All of the restaurants within the hotel are fairly upscale, requiring at least jackets, if not formal wear entirely.
Rooms and Suites
The standard Angelis room is larger than most hotel rooms. Most of them have astonishing views of the city. They all feature cream-based designs, though each room is a bit different. Every room connects to its own bathroom, and single and double rooms are both available.
The suites are larger still, and include kitchens, pantries, and living room areas. Most of them also have balconies. They follow similar decorating schemes to that of the rooms.
Penthouses
There are two penthouses in Angelis; both of them are located at the top of the hotel. The lower one is usually reserved for the Johessmans, but is rented out on occasion. They also feature cream and beige as basic color schemes, but can be arranged to meet the guest's liking. The penthouses are essentially flats, though much nicer and with the added luxury of room service. The kitchens are larger than the ones in the suites, and the penthouses also contain office space and larger bedrooms and bathrooms. The top penthouse also has roof access; the roof includes a pool and covered deck.
