<Aideen O'Grady>
Full Name: Aideen O'Grady
Age: 36
Civilian or Special: Civilian
Currently Located: Manhattan, New York City
Affiliated with: None
Celebrity Claim: Paltrow, Gwyneth
Relation to You: Oscar O'Grady's mother.
Personality: Aideen O'Grady is one of the those hard-working, salt of the earth types; the kind on which a country depends. She's the sort of person who does the little jobs that keep the big things running smoothly. She would rather take on an extra hour of work to ensure the job is done properly the first time than have to return to something a second time round.
Tragically, she has settled for a life of graft, giving up on the dancing dreams of her youth. No one really knows wat prompted her to abandon these ideals; though her mother suspects that the death of Arthur, her husband and Aideen's father, had more of an effect than on the girl than she would care to show.
She is a perfectly friendly individual but has little time for socialising outside of work. In fact, there once was a time when she had attended a weekly salsa class, in pursuit of her dream of dancing.
As a mother, Aideen is wonderful, somewhat nosey, but wonderful. All she does, she does for her son, working two jobs so Oscar wouldn't have to face his fear of the dark. Though she wouldn't admit it herself, part of this is down to a prolonged feeling of guilt about Oscar not having a present father figure, something she regrets of her own childhood.
Appearance: Aideen shares a lot of her mother's features, from her strong jaw to her kind eyes. Her shoulder length blonde hair is modestly cut and kept in trim with regular trips to a budget salon, one of Aideen's few luxuries for herself.
Her skin is pale, and etched with stress before it's age. She's slim enough, and looks enough, that it may come as a surprise to learn that she is a mother, especially of a child as old as Oscar. Her figure is fine but often covered up by her baggy, form-hiding attire.
If one word could describe Aideen's dress sense, it would be 'practical.' Since having Oscar, she's been happy to sacrifice fashion for comfort.

HISTORY
Aideen’s parents were happy. That was important. Sure, they were poor… but they were happy. That was something Aideen always remembered from her childhood; how happy a household they had.
Aideen was an average student and a quiet child. She was never particularly sociable all the way through her school years. It was when she hit her teens that she really came out of herself. It was upon the discovery of parties that Aideen started to grow in confidence.
Before long she was infamous for her behaviour at parties and eventually fell into the rave scene of the 80s. However, her party animal days weren’t to last forever as, at the tender age of twenty-two, she fell pregnant. The father had been a stranger, a one-night stand.
Only a couple of months later, her father, Arthur, died. The grief shook the bonds of her relationship with her mother but they stuck together. Aideen got a job and started earning and her mother worked part-time and looked after Oscar when he wasn’t at school.
When Oscar was ten, Aideen’s mother, Vanessa, was abducted. She fought her hardest to try and find her, to get the police on the case but it seemed hopeless and Aideen eventually decided that her mother must have died since being abducted. It was hard, but it was easier to deal with than being plagued with worry about where she was and what she was doing. Because of Vanessa’s absence, Aideen had to pick up another job as a cleaner in a hotel.
Shortly after Christmas 2009, Oscar and Aideen were given a new home by Ark Industries. The mortgage was fully paid and things were covered. Aideen initially was suspicious but soon grew to accept the home for what it was… a gift. As a result of this, she was able to drop her job at the hotel.
