Leon Zweig didn't like change. The young man was a stubborn ass and didn't like the idea of anything shifting in his life. Zweig was a creature of habit and was happy with his life that way. The young man was used to his schedule and was happy with the way things were. So why change anything? If it ain't broken, don't fix it. As cliché as it was, that was sometimes the way Leon felt... The fact that he'd changed jobs and had a new partner only made Leon more annoyed. The young man had been happy with the way things were. He loved working with Roxanne and loved his job... However, Leon wasn't happy with some of the changes that had been made recently... More importantly, Leon had been offered a better job, a higher position and more money to leave his position with the Company and take one with the FBI... They'd made him an offer he couldn't refuse... And like it or not, Leon had accepted it. At least for the time being.
Leon hated his new partner. Joe Goldberg was all business and no fun. The guy was as stiff as a board and didn't know how to enjoy life. He and Leon hardly clicked at all. It was actually a miracle that they hadn't strangled or shot one another yet. That being said, Leon did enjoy his new job. Leon felt as though he was making more of a difference and it really had taken his mind of everything that happened with Maya. The whole situation hadn't played out very well and Leon was just generally happy to have been able to distance himself from the whole thing.
All that being said about change being a good thing, Leon was thrilled when he saw it. It was Monday morning and Leon was sitting at his desk sipping a cup of coffee when he'd gotten his new case. Joe hadn't gotten in yet, which meant that Leon had first crack at the case. It was one of those things where it wasn't really something to be happy about... But Leon was happy nonetheless. Inside the case folder was George Sullivan's face. It was an old case that Leon had worked with Roxanne the year before. Sullivan was a psychopath with a flair for the dramatic. He'd slipped through Leon and Roxanne's hands and at the end of the day, he'd gotten away. Without skipping a beat, Leon downed the rest of his coffee and left the building and headed towards his motorcycle.
It was 9AM by the time he'd gotten to Roxanne's home. Even though they weren't partners anymore, Leon and Roxy still kept up. They were practically best friends. Nothing more or nothing less. Somewhere along the way Leon had gotten himself friend-zoned. He wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but at this point the young man was happy with their relationship. It worked... And if it ain't broke, don't fix it... That was Leon's motto. As Leon walked up to Roxanne's doorstep, the young man thought about knocking but figured against it. The young man fished the spare key out of the dirt in the pot next to the doorway and opened the door. The young man walked in and didn't see Roxanne right away... But smelled fresh coffee. Leon followed his nose and walked into the kitchen and poured himself a cup before sitting down on the couch. The young man smirked slightly and hummed a little. "Roxaaaaaanne... You don't have to wear that dress tonight... Walk the streets for money..." Leon sang a little of Roxanne's favorite song, before transitioning seamlessly into another thought. "Your hydrangea gave up your spare key in a heart beat... And they say that you're drowning them. Too much water and they want you to cut them some slack." Leon spoke up to no one in particular. The young man was sure Roxanne was in the other room and would make her presence known soon enough.
