Personality and Appearance-Few people would deny that Cameron is beautiful. Her black hair is long and just the right texture; her complexion is fair, albeit not as pale as her brother's. She is not, however, very happy with her eyes; she inherited her family's brown eyes. She is on the short side, and has very short hands and feet.
She dresses like a model. Growing up, her parents usually got her clothes from Wal-Mart, and, when she was lucky, Targét. Now that she is doing fairly well on her own, she buys all the designer clothes she can. She actually overspends - she pretends to have more money than she does. She manages to just barely hang on to her Manhattan apartment. But she refuses to ask for help, not even from her brother.
This graceful appearance leads to a bit of snootiness on Cami's part. She is greatly narcissistic, and has to be the center of attention. Fortunately, she knows how to entertain and is very social. She also "wears her heart on her sleeve," and feels love, happiness, and sadness very deeply. Her anger is a fearsome thing; her tempers are exaggerated and dramatic.
Her love is hard-earned. Only her immediate family gets it for free, and even then, Cami went years and years hating her brother Christian. She is a passionate woman, and a creative one, often able to get herself out of trouble using words alone. She imagines herself as very clever, and at times she is - but at others, she is too flighty and follows her wants rather than what she needs or what is right.
Abilities/Powers/Skills-Civilian
Cameron is a civilian. She can defend herself, but only knows the basics, as she is learning slowly from her brother. The disciplines she is studying are Krav Maga and kickboxing. She occasionally travels with a switchblade that Christian gave her and a bottle of Mace. With these, and the confident way she carries herself, she can pose a difficult victim to take on. Her short temper certainly helps; she has no patience for threats.
Limits-
She is only an ordinary human, and a small one at that. She can only lift so much and run so fast. She is in the middle of learning self-defense, so her knowledge of it is limited for now. Additionally, she is exceptionally intelligent and intuitive, but is not a genius. She tends to rely on her beauty, and abuses it to the point of narcissism. That temper of hers also tends to get her in trouble.
History-In retrospect, Cameron would describe her childhood as “conflicted.” When she was born, the Moynahans already had a son, Christian, eleven years old. Christian took much better care of her than their parents did. They went on adventures, learning all the while. What kinds of birds were these? What species of tree was that? Why did these flowers over here bloom, but those over there did not? Cameron’s homework became irrelevant; she would speed through it with ease, making top grades like brother, and spending more and more time either outside playing or inside researching. Cameron absolutely loved it..
Cami was seven years old when her big brother left for college. Christian expressed an inclination to stay near Cami, but the child insisted that he follow his dreams. So he left, for Pennsylvania, and Cami continued her schooling. However, as she grew older, she began to make friends aside from her brother, friends who were far less interested in academics and learning than in being popular - at the upper social ring of the middle school, and attracting all the boys. Cami struggled to keep up with them. Her parents did not have the money to make her as glamorous as the other girls were. They gradually began to accept her, however, and Cami was just glad to have friends - powerful, influential friends.
She knew Christian would not be happy with her. So she sent him altered records of her grades, essays written by someone else, and talked as though she really knew what she was doing in that algebra class. That seemed to keep Christian happy, and with his own studies he would hardly have had time to double-check her deceptions.
Christian went on to business school, and the farce continued. He visited for holidays, but those were easy; she just had to keep her friends away from him for a few weeks. But when he came home for a summer before moving to New York City, the masquerade fell apart. Christian found out about her superficial friends and the boys she and her friends had been chasing. Christian, for his part, chased away every single boy that crossed the Moynahan threshold.
This made Cameron absolutely furious. Her friends stopped inviting her places, and the boys were now terrified of her. Christian had completely ruined her social life. His explanation - that she did not need a “social life” - was insufficient. When Christian finally left, Cameron and her parents were utterly livid and would have nothing to do with the man.
The Moynahan parents had always lived with a bit of tension. They fought sometimes, but always with words. That changed as Cami grew up, while Christian was away. It was her father that acted first: he pushed her mother into a wall. That, of course, would not go unanswered. Christian witnessed some of this during the summer he spent with them, but quickly learned the hard way to stay out of it.
Meanwhile, with her parents each at the other’s throat and Christian gone, Cameron ventured out on her own. She found a new crowd to hang with. They were into clubbing, particularly raves, and everything that came along with them, such as ecstasy. She never became addicted - or so she told herself.
A very sobering experience - one that made her swear off all drugs and raves forever - occurred when Cami was twenty years old and attending a community college. A stranger, some unknown male, took advantage of her while she was at a rave, under the influence of alcohol and a light cocktail of drugs. She tried her best to forget about the incident, and never told her family or even her friends about it. But as time passed, she felt a sense of injustice coming over her - and there was only one way, she resolved, that she could find peace.
She had to find the man and kill him.
A description of the man, accompanied by a drawing - Christian had supported her artistry - identified him quickly, and she tracked him down to a remote part of West Virginia. Sitting at a bar directly next to him, the man did not recognize her at all. This only fueled her fury, and she was almost overjoyed when the opportunity to introduce the abrin came.
Among the plants Chris and Cami had studied was Abrus precatorius. (Christian had always had a somewhat morbid fascination with the poisonous ones.) That was the rosary plant. Abrin could be produced from it, just as ricin could be produced from castor oil plants. Ricin, Cami supposed, would be easier, but abrin was less well known and therefore less likely to be detected; besides, it worked faster. And had no antidote.
She made it herself, crushing the seeds of the plant and extracting the powder carefully. Now, with her attacker in reach, all she needed to do was administer it. She excused herself to “powder her nose” and just happened to spot the man’s drink on the bar, waiting to be delivered. She collected this and slipped the powder into it.
The man was dead within a day.
What made Cameron think the most was the way she had felt - or, more precisely, the way she hadn’t felt, did not feel. She felt no remorse, no sympathy… nothing. No… as the days went by, she felt… satisfied. Proud of her work. And surely, it was a feeling others who had been wronged needed to feel.
With a few friends - and a silent partner in her brother - Cameron put her community college learning to work and opened a club in New York. She named it The Regency, and the name certainly fit - it was elegantly furnished, suitable for dancing as much as socializing. It quickly became “the spot to be seen,” with everyone from the most broke college student to the richest A-listers making regular stops there. But behind the walls - literally - there was more going on, as Cameron set up victims to find like-minded people or contract mercenaries to deliver their own justice.
Faction- Neutral
Anything else?- As mentioned, Cameron is the younger sister of Christian Moynahan
Sample RP-The Regency was never complete without one of its Queens. As always, Cameron dressed in a beautiful blouse and skirt, matched so well that one would think she was preparing to walk a red carpet. She had only recently become well-known, and the social scene was only just now beginning to make the connection between the socialite Moynahan and the businessman/scientist Moynahan. Cami had made a name for herself. Sister and brother were both proud.
Cameron had finally made up with Christian on his past birthday, his thirty-fifth. Goodness, but he was getting old. Cami had loved to tease him about it. But she suspected he took it to heart, so she stopped commenting on his age, even in a joking manner.
But Christian was on the other side of the continent doing what with his research and his experiments, and Cami was enjoying herself in her own club. She slinked up to the bar. “A cosmopolitan for me, please,” she said with an easy smile. The bartender recognized her and gave a salute.
“Of course, Your Majesty. Coming right up.”
It had been the staff’s idea to call the (visible) owners that. Cameron liked that. She liked it very much. She watched the bartender mix the drink and hand it to her. This, as a royal might be, she was very particular about. It wouldn’t do for someone to slip a bit of abrin into her drink.
“Thank you, Johnson.” She gave a nod, and the bartender went off to collect the next order.Cami turned around and leaned against the bar as she sipped her drink. The place was damn near full tonight, she noticed. She liked to see it lively like this. Lively, profitable, and perfect for her needs.
