Personality-
Often the quietest one in a group, Fiona prefers to listen to what others have to say before deciding whether to speak up, and mostly, she would remain quiet. Utterly shy, she enjoys flying under the radar and drawing little attention to herself. Despite this, people of all manners still tend to flock to her, much to Fiona's dismay. This is not to say that Fiona isn't intelligent or has no opinion of her own. She has many brilliant ideas, but rarely shares them unless necessary.
On her personal time, Fiona likes going on adventures with her husband, be it the beach, the museum, the movies, or just a quiet stroll around the local park. She seldom chooses said adventure, however, and instead allows her husband to pick everything. It's tiring to have to plan everything, and Fiona would rather follow than to lead. She takes up this attitude with everyone from her husband, to her family and friends, and to coworkers. This is the very reason why Fiona is often the most qualified as project leader at work, but she had always opted out of the position. Other project leaders do enjoy having her on board with their projects though, because Fiona is very capable and gives good second-opinions when asked without ever directly challenging their leadership.
As a software engineer, Fiona does have a very creative side, making cellphone applications in her spare time and giving them out to her friends for free. These include little games for passing the time, to gadgets for controlling the lights and appliances in your home, to things that are even a bit on the illegal side such as apps to tap into and listen in on people's calls nearby, and calling people's cars through radio frequencies. She never invented any of these things for malicious purposes. Fiona just wanted to prove to herself that she could accomplish it. This constant drive to challenge herself both technically and creatively had led her to create (with her sister's help) a very successful Youtube account that mainly has various videos on how to improve the consumer-grade technology around them, where she has a big loyal following of techno-nerds.
Abilities/Powers/Skills-
Technopathy:
By manipulating the currents in electronic devices, Fiona is capable of controlling them with her mind. With it, she could take command of any electronics nearby ranging from calculators, lights in a room, computers, phones, security cameras, traffic lights, and even an entire airplane if she was close to the cockpit. If the device is standalone, Fiona would control the device by mentally feeding it command inputs. For example, she could take control of an elevator and make it move to any floor she wanted, overriding other people that called for the elevator. She could also reprogram the elevator so that it would no longer recognize the ground floor as a floor, even long after Fiona had left the elevator. This ability to reprogram electronics generally doesn't work on dumb devices that are not programmable in the first place, but is very effective on smart devices, like computers or cellphones. Electronics that are hooked up to a network with a command console, like a set of security cameras and doors, are vulnerable to being taken over completely if Fiona could control the command console, which would give her full control over every device that took inputs from the console. She could also feel any electronic devices, as well as electric currents, around her without seeing them, and could identify them by feeling out their programming and circuits.
Synaptic Manipulation:
Fiona's power over electric currents could could be used on humans and animals, or any living creatures that uses electricity in their nervous system. By manipulating the neural charges in people and animals, Fiona could cause interruptions in the motor functions of others, often to halt a signal and make someone not perform an action, or redirect the charges to make someone perform unintended actions. She could also make someone's neurons fire abnormally in the brain, causing seizures which can lead to unconsciousness. With time, Fiona could reroute the neural charge paths of a being to roughly take motor control of the being, though their movements would be fairly unnatural, like the person or animal was being pulled along by strings by a puppeteer.
Limits-
Technopathy:
Fiona's power, while not needing direct contact to work, does have a range limit around the size of half a basketball court. Complicated reprogramming of devices take a long time, and is best done if she's within reach of the device. Device controlling also becomes more difficult if the distance is too far. If she tried to control something outside this range, both controlling and reprogramming becomes unpredictable as her mind fights for control of the device instead of taking over. For example, if Fiona is too far from a cellphone, trying to make the phone play the last song it played might end up having it call the previously dialed number. Reprogramming the ringtone to the Doctor Who theme song might end up with a ringtone of Nicholas Cage screaming "NOT THE BEES!!!". Her power to take over a network of devices depends on whether she had taken over a slave device (like a security camera) or a master device (like the console in a security office). If it's just the camera, Fiona could control it, but cannot control the other cameras (though she would be able to tell where the console is sending commands from). Only by controlling the master device could she control an entire set of slave devices.
Synaptic Manipulation:
Although Fiona technically could manipulate the minds of others, she does not have control over higher brain processes, such as thoughts, memories, other bodily functions, and special abilities. While making someone cease up or violently twitch in a fit of seizure isn't very difficult, remapping someone's neural pathways to control a body takes much time and concentration. Fiona has to concentrate on a single body at a time, and controlling a conscious body that resists is similar to trying to tie up a person with lots of strings while they struggled. Generally it would give the victim enough time to either attack Fiona to break her concentration, or to flee from her range of control, which is the size of half a basketball court. Fiona is unable to control an unconscious body, because the remapping process requires live calibration to get the right control, thus the only way for Fiona to gain motor control over someone else is if they are conscious and moving about. This also means that the more the victim struggles, the faster Fiona can calibrate and take control. However, the opposite is also true, where if the victim stops moving, Fiona would have a very hard time gaining control. Those with abilities involving electricity, magnetism, or mental-based powers have varying degrees of resistance to Fiona's synapse manipulation, depending on the mastery over their own powers.
Appearance-
Standing at 5'3" and weighing no more than 110 lbs, Fiona was never the most imposing figure in a crowd, but with her long and straight brunette hair, big shiny blue eyes, and a porcelain face that looks deceptively youthful, she is quite attractive, but mostly in the cute way and rarely the hot way. Because she wasn't fond of attention, Fiona almost never put on any make up in her daily life, making her seem even younger but blended in well in public. Despite this, it does annoy Fiona that she gets ID'ed everywhere.
The way Fiona dresses reflects exactly how she wanted to be perceived in public: plain. Whether for work or for a dinner outing with her husband, she wears combinations of blouses, skirts, cardigans, and dresses, all of which have no designs nor patterns, all of which contains one solid colour per item of clothing, brighter in the summer and darker in the winter. The only thing in the way Fiona dresses that didn't fit her profile of being bland are the various butterfly-shaped jewellery Fiona always had on before leaving home. These could include rings, pendants, hair clips, or pins.

History-
Fiona Reinette Kingsley was born in Boston, to an engineer father and a pilot mother. Reinette was the name her mother had originally given to Fiona as her first name, because to her mother, Fiona will always be her "little queen", but the new parents later gave their child the more common name she now goes by. Even at a very young age, Fiona was extremely intelligent. Her parents encouraged Fiona to read and gave her plenty of books on subjects well beyond children her age should be capable of. Nurtured by her mother and father, two very smart professionals, Fiona was the intellectual equal to a fourth-grader by the time she was four years old. It was also this time that the Kingsley family welcomed Fiona's baby sister Miranda to this world. The first time Fiona laid eyes on the tiny face of her sister, she promised her parents that she would protect and look after Miranda forever. Fiona's parents thought it was very cute for her to make such a vow without really knowing what it meant. Little did they know that for much of Fiona's life, protecting Miranda would become her sole purpose.
It was around the time when Fiona turned six when her parents noticed the electronics in their home were acting abnormally. Analytical and logical, her father deduced through much experimentations that Fiona had a way with interfering with electrically charged devices. He even noticed that the interference intensity correlated with Fiona's emotions when the television tends to flicker on and off when Fiona watched either a very funny or a very sad movie. Not knowing what to make of it just yet, the concerned parents kept it a secret, and Fiona's father built a small bracelet that subdued her electronics interfering powers. No one knew that Fiona had this unusual effect even as she attended her first year of elementary school due to the wrist device's effectiveness. Unfortunately, during class one afternoon, one of her classmates wanted to see Fiona's bracelet and yanked it off her wrist. Startled, Fiona chased the boy around, frantically trying to get the bracelet back, which she believed was a gift her father entrusted her with and she didn't want to lose (without knowing what it actually did). When the boy outran Fiona and continued to tease her, Fiona let out a huge scream in anger and frustration heard by several classrooms nearby, followed by all the lights in her classroom as well as those from the nearby classrooms exploding.
This incident did not go unnoticed by the Company. The Company investigated the family extensively, and sent an agent named Valerie Vayne to the Kingsleigh home, offering their assistance in understanding Fiona's very raw ability. Her parents were initially very welcomed to the idea, but became very skeptical when Vayne suggested that the Company would take Fiona away for further testing. They promptly requested for Vayne to leave their family alone. Vayne left, but the Company wasn't about to give up on their first candidate for their new deep science division, which seeked to create powerful special-human weapons, both to further understand the nature of them (and how to defeat them) and as obedient agents in the future to carry out the Company's will.
On a family trip to Mexico, the Kingsleighs were attacked by a street gang, and both their children were taken. They received a phone call from Vayne shortly, assuring them that Fiona and Miranda will be fine, in Company care, implying that the gangsters were Company-hired muscles. Fiona's parents appealed to every government authority, both in Mexico and back in the United States, but the police questioned their story regarding special powers and shadow organizations stealing children, and arrested them instead on suspicion that the children's disappearance was due to the parents. Agent Vayne showed up at the police station instead of the attorney they've called, and gave the two the choice of either to stay quiet about the Company, or spend the rest of their lives in prison. With no alternative, the Kingsleighs retracted their statements regarding the Company, chalking it up to the stress of losing their children in a bad part of town. Heartbroken, the two were shortly released and returned to their lives, still searching for Fiona and Miranda.
For being taken away from her family forcefully, Fiona was unusually calm, and cooperated with Agent Vayne, the Company member assigned to be her handler in the project. The Company had underestimated the maturity level of Fiona, and the young girl of six knew she had to do as they said if little Miranda, age two, was to be safe. For the next decade, Fiona was subjected to various experiments to hone her powers. It was through the tests that Fiona learned to control electronic devices. At first it was only to turn a device on and off. Then, she was able to use keyboard and mouse functions on computers without touching any input devices, all the way to rapidly reprogramming electronics with nothing but her mind. Agent Vayne was very cold to Fiona, never satisfied with her progress, and often threatened that perhaps the tests were better ran on her sister. Vayne was harsh in her criticism, even more harsh than the scientists performing the tests on Fiona. Fiona wondered why Vayne would demand so much from her, and it wasn't until some years later that she realized Vayne was not the only handler in the project, and Fiona was not the only subject in these experiments, although she had been told that she was the very first, and the other children they had "recruited", so to speak, used her training regime as a template. Fiona was not the only one, but she felt that she was the most special as the other rode on her success, and she could then sense that Agent Vayne does take pride in her asset when Fiona proved her criticism wrong. Over time, the two grew a fairly strong bond, abeit the relationship was emotionally cold, as Vayne was not an emotional person.
When Fiona was 10, there was a very sudden change in her imprisoned life. Fiona was given a proper and well-furnished room to rest in. She was given a tutor that taught her different school subjects (including classes in the German language), a music instructor that taught her how to play the violin, and various martial arts lessons that taught her Karate, Jujitsu, Judo, and Kendo. But most of all, Fiona was reunited with Miranda, now age 6 and barely recognized Fiona. Miranda had manifested an ability of her own, and demonstrated it to Fiona by transmuting a plastic fork into a plastic butterfly hair clip. Agent Vayne told Fiona that the research team had some of their subjects lose their abilities completely under the current training method, yet one subject named Alice, under her handler Agent Alessandro Moretti, was following a modified method from the beginning and had gained a tremendous amount of mastery over her ability. The remaining subjects were to undergo similar training to Alice to maximize the ability yield at maturity. Fiona, like Valarie Vayne, was upset that she was no longer the special one, but while Vayne continued to brood and live under the shadow of Moretti, Fiona was just happy to have her sister back.
Fiona was 16 when her power training became more weaponized. The scientists believed that the same ability to control electronic devices could be used against humans, and testing shifted from electronics to live tests involving various animals like rats, rabbits, dogs, and even a bear one time. Fiona made their bodies seize up, or give them spasms until they were knocked out. The more she was sent to basically torture these animals, the more Fiona realized just how fragile life really was, and how easy it was to ruin. Slowly, she began enjoying having this power over living beings.
In a combat training session, 18-year-old Fiona met the 16-year-old Alice for the first time. They were to have a sparring session together with wooden weapons, no abilities allowed. They spoke to each other very briefly, only asking of each other's combat styles. Fiona wanted to speak to the girl further, since she was the only person around her age she had met in a decade, but Alice seemed more interested in completing training, constantly glancing back at her handler, one Agent Moretti. Fiona used a katana and a wakizashi, two Japanese swords in tandem, while Alice used a long Qiang, or a Chinese spear. They were quite evenly matched, until the head researcher announced that abilities were now allowed in the fight. Fiona gave Vayne a quick glance, and when Vayne gave a slight nod with a smirk on her face, she struck at Alice quickly as her opponent was reluctant to use her power. Under synaptic control, Alice dropped to her knees, with her body bent forward in a subservient bow. Vayne looked absolutely pleased at the sight, until Moretti urged Alice to defend herself. Fiona was pulled to the ground by an unseen force, stuck in a kneeling position, while Alice's telekinesis overpowered the hold Fiona had on her body, and through cries of agony, Alice awkwardly rose up before the still kneeling Fiona. Enraged by the humiliation, knowing now she stood little chance had Alice struck with her ability first, Fiona unleashed with the ability she had use on so many test animals, and put Alice into seizure mode. Fiona, via technopathy, completely disabled the power dampeners installed in every room, which were temporarily turned off. She attacked agents and scientists alike that got near her, with the agents dropping their pistols whenever they pulled out their weapon from their hands seizing up. One agent after another dropped to Fiona's fury, twitching on the ground. When the power dampener was finally up again, only Moretti and Vayne remained with their pistols out, while Fiona took another pistol for a fallen agent and grabbed Alice as a human shield. Fiona threatened that she would kill Alice and herself, leaving the Company with nothing to show for after 10 years of research, unless they send Miranda back home. Moretti cared for Alice, and tried to negotiate with Fiona, but Vayne knew they had healers on hand, and shot through Alice's body to hit Fiona, gravely injuring both potential Company weapons. This incident marked the end of the project as the Company Directors shut down the responsible science division.
The remaining test subjects, all in their teens, were put into induced comas to have their abilities suppressed, their memories altered, and returned to their families (if able) one by one. Fiona and Miranda's parents were contacted in secret and informed that they can reunite with their children shortly. Within a month, all test subjects were returned to their families, with the exception of Alice, who remained in a coma for another year before being rescued in the Primatech fire by the then Company Director, Grace Harper.
Fiona found herself waking up in a hospital, tot he sight of her parents, and Miranda resting in a hospital bed next to hers. They told Fiona and Miranda that the car accident that sent them both into week-long comas had caused the amnesia they were both experiencing, which made the events of the past 10 years very fuzzy. They were never told of what really happened, and both of them had completely forgotten everything. Furthermore, their powers were absent, and they believed themselves to be civilians.
Fiona, having obtained a very high SAT score already back in Company holding, used her Company-provided credentials from "home schooling" to apply to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she studied and received a Master's degree in computer and software engineering. She met David Regal, a part-time law professor at MIT's Sloan School of Management, while sitting in one of Miranda's lectures (Miranda was pursuing a business degree). They married a year later, and moved to California with her husband when Fiona was hired by Ark Industries.
Anything else?-
Fiona's powers are currently dormant, but once released (under certain conditions to be done in RP), she would regain her full potency in her abilities. It is also not impossible for her lost memories to return.
Sample RP-
Jersey Day. Fiona still never fully understood the idea of having theme days on Fridays. How far were they going to keep taking Casual Friday? David was very into sports, and before Fiona left for work this morning, he slipped his own autographed Drew Doughty L.A. Kings hockey jersey on his wife, right over her white blouse, purple cardigan, and blue skirt. No high-heels though. Just a pair of Chuck Taylors, to stick it to the Man. Fiona was too lazy to take the jersey off, so she drove to work in the jersey.
In truth, Fiona thought it would be a good way to blend in if her coworkers were all wearing jerseys as expected. Most of her peers were male, and were into many sports. Not as much for the sports themself, but more as an excuse to consume large quantities of alcohol and act like fools. They were engineers, after all. As she entered the Ark Industries building lobby and heading to the main elevator, she wondered... what if her coworkers start asking her all sort of hockey questions? What would Fiona say? If she confessed that it was David that put this on her, how long would it take for them to leave her alone? Fiona was inside the elevator now, and hit the button for her floor. Just as the door almost closed (and she wished it had, because the elevator was empty), a hand reached through the crack, and the doors opened again.
"Thanks! Sorry," said Alice Taylor as she made her way into the elevator, wearing a blue jersey similar to Fiona's with the name Richards at the back, carrying a small blue purse. Fiona stood still, eyes wide and staring at Alice. THE Alice Taylor, as seen in such movies as Ascension, Metroid Prime, Inception 2, Hamlet in Space, Berlin Express, Scary Movie 8, and some whale rescue documentary. Why was she here? How did she know about Jersey Day? Why did she sound so Canadian? There were so many questions Fiona wanted to ask, but while Alice stayed on one side of the elevator, smiling and humming to herself, Fiona found herself choking on frogs and unable to speak. Fiona noticed that Alice was going to the top floor, the CEO's office.
"Congratulations on winning the Stanley Cup, by the way! My New York Rangers did the best they could, new coach and everything, but Drew Doughty... such a good defenceman, you know? Everyone on the Kings were just too good." Alice said in that super pleasant voice that she does in interviews.
Fiona just learned three things: Alice's jersey was for the New York Rangers, the L.A. Kings won the Stanley Cup (whatever that is), and Doughty is a defenceman. She gave Alice a nervous smile and nodded her head. Alice smiled back weakly before looking away, sensing that Fiona didn't enjoy the conversation. Fiona wanted to tell her that she didn't do anything wrong, and that it was just too early in the morning to chatter before coffee. She'd love to snap a picture with Alice to show David who she ran into this morning.
"I understand, it's too early in the morning to chit-chat, especially before getting some caffeine in our systems. Do you want to take a selfie with me? I just wanted to take a shot with someone else here with a jersey on. My girlfriend thought wearing a hockey jersey to work was unprofessional."
Good, Fiona thought. She read my mind. Like perfectly. Wait, but how --
"Say cheese!" Alice exclaimed while putting an arm around the shorter Fiona, the other arm holding out her cellphone for the selfie. Fiona took out her phone as well as both snapped a few pictures. Alice gave her Hollywood smile, and Fiona gave the best smile a nervous wreck could give, her face getting redder by the second.
The elevator door opened to Fiona's floor. "Thanks," Fiona said quietly before disembarking the tiny mobile room.
"Wait!" cried Alice suddenly. Fiona turned around to see a very stern looking Alice staring back. "... do I know you?" Alice asked, her voice serious, not like before when it was coated with layers of honey. Fiona couldn't say a word, and just stared with a puzzled look. The doors began to close between them.
"... okay nice to meet you!" Alice said sweetly, her face back to the pleasant one Fiona saw often on TV, right as the doors slammed shut. How did she do that? Do all actors just have a switch somewhere on their body to turn on the charm or what?
Fiona continued on to the lab where she worked, and flipped back and forth between the pictures she took with Alice. The question swirled back and forth in her mind, soft at first, than louder and louder and loudest, and soft again, like ocean waves in her head the question repeated.
Do I know you?
