Nothing Wrong With A Little Mayhem [Private]

Twirly twirl. Samantha Kroner twirled around like the petite little ballerina she had always been, her white sun dress that she refused to change out of twirled around her and she giggled. She was a little princess, beautiful and delicate. Beautiful little Sammie. The sun shone brightly in Los Angeles as the little family headed towards the park. Sammie hummed softly to herself, a little parasol in her hands as it was one of her favourite toys to carry with her, princesses had parasols! Walking a few steps ahead of her adoptive parents, Sammie was quite happily lost in the labyrinth of her mind, twirling and humming.

The sight of Samantha’s bare feet always irked Jessica to a small degree as she was afraid that she’d step on glass or something while out walking but the girl was adamant in not wanting to put shoes on and she had little interest in upsetting the girl. Marshall had made the girl promise to be careful and Jess had to step back as she was aware that Sammie and Marshall had a special bond. She wasn’t jealous of course, she was proud of the headway they had made with Samantha because of that bond. Her delicate psyche remained teetering on the edge but she wasn’t near as volatile as she used to be and she had settled into a routine when she was at their home or when they were at work.

Adopting Samantha had been the best choice they could have made. She wasn’t their child by birth but she was safest with them. She was, perhaps, the only child they would ever have though Jessica had hope that she’d be able to give Marshall a child someday. Dressed in a simple flower print dress with a black shrug, Jessica was quite comfortable, holding her fiance’s hand and watching Samantha closely as she always did. It was a peaceful little outing, one that Jessica and Marshall had promised the girl for the past week since they had been busy with work or wedding plans. Taking Sammie with them when they needed to work on wedding things could be…tedious at times given how unpredictable Samantha could be. The last time she had entered a bridal shop with Samantha in tow the girl had been nothing short of a disaster with Jessica being banned from ever coming back.

Some people didn’t have a sense of humor.

Squeezing Marshall’s hand, Jessica looked over at the man who would be her husband soon enough and couldn’t help but smile. He was just perfect and everything she needed in her life. She couldn’t believe how incredibly lucky she was and it was nice to spend some time with him outside of work where she didn’t have to keep referring to him as Doctor Q. She had yet to decide if she would take his name or not, people had a hard enough time spelling his name much less having to do it twice over. “My father is trying to get me to convince you to take my name as they don’t want to have to forever have to check the spelling before sending us things.” She teased him playfully, it was a suggestion she had gotten from others as well. “Don’t have to but it’s strongly suggested.”

Keeping track of Sammie, she watched the girl skip around and twirl. She was an adult at this point but still such an innocent child. The things she had endured… She deserved to remain a child as long as she could given how terrible her childhood had been. “Did I tell you? Samantha is determined to wear a wedding dress on the day.” She laughed at the idea. “With a veil and basket of flower petals, she thinks you’re meant to throw petals at people.”
