///// THE RULES
Be respectful.
Use common sense. If you wouldn't want someone treating you a certain way, don't do it. This rule also applies to the chatbox. If you see someone breaking the rules, notify a staff member.
Doing any of the following will result in an automatic ban:
Quality, not quantity.
Don't make one line posts. We don't have a word limit, but “Yes,” she said. is not a post.
The Away Thread.
If you're going to be away for more than a few days, let us know HERE.
Celebrity Claims
Everyone needs to pick a celebrity to represent their character. These need to be real people—no CGI or animated “celebrities.” In addition, please do not use any Heroes canon character actors (so no using Zachary Quinto as a celeb claim, etc.). If it's a person who played a minor role, then we may allow it.
Character v. Celebrity Claim Ages
Be realistic here. If your celeb claim is 65 and looks like they're 65, it doesn't make sense for your the character using that CC to be a 15 year old. If your character is 30 and their CC is 40, that's fine. Just try to make their age reflect how old they look.
Godmoding
Your character isn't a god, nor do they have control over the actions of other characters in the game (unless you have the player's consent). More can be read about it HERE.
Continuity and placement.
It is possible for your character to be in more than one thread at once. Just keep track of which thread happened first. If your character got injured in that thread, then went to Hawai'i two days later to join another thread, your character is still going to be injured in that 2nd thread.
Overall Activity
Post as often as you can. We hope that you can post more than once a week, but we understand that life happens. If you can't post for an extended period of time, let us know in the away thread.
General Realism and Theme
Use your creativity, but also be realistic. Remember that Heroes is about ordinary people with extraordinary abilities. Those people have jobs, real problems, hobbies, etc. Your roleplay should not revolve entirely around your ability.
The Rule~ If you wish to have your application approved, then you'll need to remember what to say when asked if you have read the rules: “I thought the cat was female?”
In-Character v. Out of Character: The Separation.
You are not your character. Don’t be offended if someone doesn’t like your character, because your character != you. Also, please try and remember that whilst you know what is going on board wide your character will not. More can be read about it HERE.
Labeling Threads.
Please note that any finished threads, must be recorded HERE
///// BIO RULES
No Mary Sues!
No, your character cannot be a popular singer, a great chef, be friendly with everyone, and have no faults at all. To learn more about Sues, please read THIS.
Eclipse's Relationship to Canon.
Absolutely no canon/relative of canon/coworker of canon characters. Eclipse is an original character only game.
Character Abilities
You can choose to play a person who has a power, or you can choose to play a normal human. If your character has had their power for a while, your history needs to reflect this. Your character can also be a new manifest (i.e. they found out a week ago that they have a power).
Your character should fit the world of Heroes. A godsend's powers do not come from being stung by a radioactive spider, getting an anal probe, whatever. As per Heroes canon, abilities are genetic, evolution-based, and are triggered by adrenal stimulation and the 'fight or flight' mechanism. They are scientific in nature and should be explained as such. You may possess one/two abilities, two is the maximum. However, your secondary ability must meet two standards. It must be related to your first. It also should not be more powerful than your first.
To see which powers are currently in use, check out our Power List.
If you need inspiration for a power, here are a few sites you can go to:

Cooperation with staff.
Once you have posted your application, you will receive a reply from an application moderator. Please be patient.
The reply to your application may ask for changes before you can be accepted. Be cooperative with the staff, as we are only trying to help you iron out issues. We mean no offence or harm.
Factions.
The three basic factions are:
Hero
Neutral
Villain
There are also other factions you can choose to have your character join:
Ark Industries - Ark Industries is the leading technology company in America. This company dedicates itself to research technology that interacts with Specials, among many other projects.
The Company – Originally created with the intention of capturing evolved humans to study them, The Company has become much more of a humanitarian group, seeking to help evos and humans live harmoniously.
The Elite – Sort of like the Special Ops branch of The Company. They tend to handle all the tough cases.
The Jung Facility – The Jung Facility is a mental institution located in Los Angeles. It was founded by a group of psychologists believe they can help people with abilities lead a better life with their powers.

- Profanity is fine, but don't be an asshole. Using slurs of ANY kind (homophobic, racial, sexist, ableist, etc.) = automatic perma-ban from the site. This is a safe space and we have people here from all walks of life, all genders, all sexual orientations. Please respect that. If it's not something you'd want your grandmother to hear you say, don't do it.

Labeling Threads.
- If the thread is OPEN for anyone to enter then you label the thread as OPEN.
- If the thread has been made for someone specific that you have already planned to do the thread in question with, can you please label the thread with the thread name and then the persons name next to it so that it is clear the thread is for a particular person and if anyone wishes to join they MUST ask you first.
- If the thread is restricted to Sign ups or Invite only, label the thread SIGN UPS or INVITE ONLY. Please do not label the thread Closed, because by doing so confuses the person doing archiving.
- If the thread is Finished for whatever reason, label it as FINISHED.
Please note that any finished threads, must be recorded HERE
