Personality-
Aubrey has a positive outlook on life; he is full of enterprise, energy and versatility. He can be adventurous and eager to extend experience beyond the physically familiar. He enjoys travelling and exploration, even more so because his mind is constantly open to new dimensions of thought. He is ambitious and optimistic, and continues to be so even when his hopes are dashed. Aubrey has a strongly idealistic nature which can also suffer many disappointments without being affected. He is honourable, honest, trustworthy, truthful, generous and sincere, with a passion for justice. Aubrey is usually on the side of the underdog in society he will fight for any cause he believes to be just, and is prepared to be rebellious. He balance’s loyalty with independence.
Usually Aubrey is modest and openly religious, with a strong sense of morality, though he tends to overemphasize the ethical codes he follows and worships beliefs about God rather than God Himself. This means that, negatively, he regards rigid, unloving, intolerant adherence to ritual and conventional codes as more important than the truths they symbolize or embody. Aubrey sometimes pays lip service to religions and political parties in which he had ceased to believe because the outward forms satisfy him, yet he may not hesitate to switch allegiance in politics or change his system of belief if he can see the personal advantages in doing so.
Aubrey has a profound and widely ranged mind, equipped with foresight and good judgement, and he can be a witty conversationalist. He loves to initiate new projects and has an urge to understand conceptions that are new to him. He thinks rapidly, he’s intuitive and often original, but he’s better at adapting than inventing and is at his best when working with colleagues of other types of character that compliment his own. Aubrey is strong-willed and good at organizing, a combination that gives him the ability to bring any project he undertakes to a successful conclusion. His generosity can be balanced by his extreme care at handling his resources.
He is ardent, sincere and straightforward in love, normally conventional and in control of his sexual natures. Yet if thwarted, he has a habit of revenging himself upon the opposite sex by becoming cynically promiscuous. He has a need to feel free and is often faced with the choice of allowing his career to take over his life at the expense of a loved one. Aubrey finds it difficult to express affection and sometimes runs the risk of being thought frigid. In other personal relationships he is reliable, seldom betraying any trust given to him. Aubrey can, however, be impulsively angry and knows how to be outspoken and exactly what expressions will hurt his adversaries most. On the other hand he is magnanimous in forgiving offenses and is responsible.
The vices to which Aubrey is prone are anger he tends to flare up over trifles; impatience - he wants to rush every new project through immediately and demands too much of colleagues who cannot work at the pace he requires; and scorn of the inadequacies of others while expecting fulsome recognition of his own efforts. He can be exacting, domineering and inconsiderate in the work place; and boastful, vulgar and extravagant in his private life. His restlessness, if excessive, can jeopardize more than his own stability.

Abilities/Powers/Skills-
Neural Manipulation
Neural Manipulation is the ability to mentally manipulate nerves and neural messages in one's own body, or the bodies of others. Whilst using this ability Aubrey is able to alter sensation. For example, if Aubrey happened to be injured in some way he would be able to manipulate the nerve impulses in his body and cause the pain receptors to become confused. By doing this, his brain would not receive the neural messages sent and thus Aubrey would not acknowledge nor react to the agony from the injury possibly sustained.
This ability works very much the same on others as it does to himself. Aubrey can not only ‘banish’ pain but he can also inflict agony upon others. Because Aubrey can manipulate nerve impulses and alter sensation, he is able to toy with sensations such as pain, pleasure and even temperature changes.
In addition, Aubrey can induce, inhibit or alter motion within the bodies of those present. This ability is not to be confused with puppetry as though it can be deemed similar; they are two entirely different things. Aubrey is able to manipulate the signals and neural messages sent from the brain to the body instructing it to perform certain tasks or movements. By manipulating these signals he is able to either block them entirely or alter them to his preference thus changing the action in which the brain previously wanted his targets body to perform.
Sleep Inducement
Sleep Inducing is the ability to put others to sleep at will. Since Aubrey is able to manipulate the neurological state and performance of another person, he is able to use this ability to induce sleep in others. The brain naturally creates a chemical compound known as Melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine) which is produced by the Pineal Gland, located in the center of the brain.
Aubrey’s ability enables him to alter the level of Melatonin that the brain produces by manipulating the signal that forms part of the system that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. By manipulating the signal, thus changing the level of Melatonin his subject produces he is able to cause his subject to become suddenly drowsy and lethargic before falling into an almost natural slumber.
Limits-
Neural Manipulation
First and foremost the main disadvantage to Aubrey’s ability is that his subject must be within and remain in his eyesight whilst he is using his ability. Aubrey cannot simply think of a person and use them as his subject, nor can he do so if said person leaves the room before Aubrey is able to use his ability on them.
Aubrey’s ability does not grant him the capabilities of creating nor placing thoughts into another’s mind, his ability is not a form of mind control and purely works on manipulating the neural messages sent to the brain.
Aubrey cannot use his ability whilst in an unconscious state; this means that if Aubrey is in the process of using his ability and is somehow rendered unconscious his ability becomes inactive. His ability is also interrupted if a subject is also no longer in a conscious state, Aubrey cannot use his ability on a sleeping subject.
Sleep Inducement
The main set back to Aubrey’s ability is time. Aubrey’s ability of Sleep Inducing does not grant him the capabilities of sudden slumber. He cannot will someone to sleep and expect them to do so in a matter of seconds. His ability manipulates the Melatonin levels within the brain, because of this he is only able to work at the pace and time it takes for those levels to heighten to the point where his subject becomes drowsy and then falls into an almost natural state of sleep.
Aubrey has difficulty with insomniacs. If one’s body is use to fighting sleep, it is often that these subjects prove more difficult for Aubrey because they react in trying to fight off the build up of Melatonin levels and thus battling against the tiredness’ that comes with it.
Once more Aubrey cannot use this ability on an unconscious or already sleeping subject, however if his subject is already sleeping he is able to make their sleeping much deeper.
Appearance-
Aubrey stands at six feet and three inches (6’3”) and weighs around one-hundred and seventy-nine pounds (179lbs). He is fairly toned, with a notably athletic frame. He’s not incredibly muscular but has the right amount of muscle-fat ratio for someone of his height. Aubrey is in no way out of shape, this he achieves by spending a lot of time in physical training. He likes boxing and it has become a part of his keep fit regime, Aubrey likes to look his best and if that means spending a good few hours at the gym each day then he’s going to put all the time in that’s required.
His hair is dark brown, almost black, and shaved. Aubrey has his hair shaved, but doesn’t have it straight down to the blade where he is near enough bald. His hair is often cut on a number two blade which allows him to keep a good amount of scalp coverage. On the occasion Aubrey will let his hair grow a little in which he’d opt to style it in a spiky up do. Aubrey has a somewhat tanned complexion which is partially natural but a fair amount to do with sun exposure.
His most prominent feature is his eyes. Aubrey has light green eyes but is affected by Sectoral Heterochromia which is when a part of one iris is a different colour from its remainder resulting in half of the green iris to be brown. It isn’t something one picks up right away, but often causes a second glance because of how obvious of a difference his right eye is from his left. His facial features are somewhat small and narrow, which as a result make his eyes stand out more. His face is fairly round in shape, but a chiselled jaw gives off a very masculine appearance.
When it comes to style, Aubrey chooses comfort over fashion. However, if he likes a trend enough he will follow it, so long as Aubrey actually likes the style in which the trend is set. Aubrey likes to wear dark colours, mostly in jeans and footwear. He tends to pick neutral colours over brighter shades and isn’t much of a fan of boisterous colours such as yellows and pinks.

History-
Aubrey James Harrison was born in Exton, Pennsylvania on May 1st, 1972 to Charles Harrison and Angela Harrison nee Rollins.
From a very young age Aubrey was made aware that he wasn’t like most children’s. He was special and harboured an extraordinary ability. His ability would have likely been undiscovered until later on, if it hadn’t been for his father’s obsession with the human mind. Because his father had been so attentive to his sons blossoming capabilities, control came easy to the young boy. He was just the tender age of 11 years when he discovered his abilities and from the aid of his father was able to get a solid grasp of control. He was certain that if it hadn’t been for Charles, he’d have likely abused his abilities as he grew older. Thankfully, he was able to put a cap on them and learn the difference between being useful and being selfish and inconsiderate within using his powers.
Growing up was fairly easy on Aubrey despite being the eldest of five children, Aub’s life was simple. Often the oldest child held the most responsibility but since Aubrey had always been the favourite (when it came to his father) he was given a lot more leeway then his other siblings. Being the first born son meant that Aubrey and his father had a tight bond and more specifically, Charles carried Aubrey's secret around with him. His boy was special and he was proud. He’d spend most of his days at his father’s side, aspiring to be just like him.
His father, Charles was a brain surgeon and his mother, Angela a special needs teacher. He’d always wanted to work in the medical profession. He was an grade a student, always dedicated to his studies. Due to his studies, Aubrey really didn’t have much time for a social life and tended to spend whatever he had left of his time with his family. He studied his undergraduate classes in biology, physics, mathematics, English, and organic chemistry. Whilst also taking courses in humanities and social sciences. On top of studying he did some volunteering at a local hospital just to give himself some practical experience, it wasn't mandatory but it'd help in the long run.
Medical school funnily enough gave him more time to do other activities, despite it being very demanding. It was a very rigorous process. In order to be considered for admission, he had to submit transcripts, scores from the Medical College Admission Test and recommendation letters. Thankfully, since his parents worked the medical field, he had no problems providing recommendations and had already been fairly successful within his voluntary placement between classes.
Soon he'd enrolled and been accepted into a four-year program which included courses in anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, medical ethics and laws governing medicine. It was during his first year at Med school that he met the woman of his dreams; Carmen Di Nozzo. Carmen was an intern at the Queens Hospital in which Aubrey was admitted too after an accident during a friendly soccer game played amongst friends. Aubrey had been taken down during the game and suffered a head injury after being sent down against the goal post. After seeing her for the first time he was absolutely smitten, they hit it off right away and before he knew it they started dating.
The couple dated three long years, and at the end of Medical school Aubrey earned his MD. However, he had a long way to go before he could legally practice medicine. He needed to earn his medical license. Aubrey was granted a few months off during a summer break, where he insisted that Carmen meet his family. Sadly, Carmen did not meet his father’s standards and she was deemed unsuitable for his son. The problem was that Charles was not fond of Carmen because of her Hispanic heritage. Aubrey was livid to say the least, but this would not get in the way of his love and with that he practically disowned his father vowing that if he could not accept his love for Carmen then he could consider him no longer his son.
Aubrey continued on, enrolling and completing a residency program whilst rotating between a variety of hospitals and clinics. Six months down the line Carmen fell pregnant with their first child. This put a bit of a strain on their relationship, because Aubrey really didn’t have the time to raise a child and commit to a family. His career was his life thus far and he really didn’t know how to adjust. Eventually he came around to his senses and learned to simply juggle both work and family life.
Once Aubrey had completed his residency and achieved his physician's license and certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists. At this time his son, Cole was now three years old. Not long after Aubrey finished medical school did he and Carmen get married. Two years later, Carmen gave birth to a baby girl; Cecillia.
Aubrey’s life was made, he had a great job and a great family but with every up came a down and sadly it revolved around married life. He worked a lot, a lot more then Carmen liked and this meant that problems ensued with their marriage life. He was a workaholic and only doing so to provide for his family but the only thing they wanted was to have him around. He felt as if he’d failed them and Carmen, but if he gave up his job now...they’d have nothing. He took a little more time off but it was hard adjusting...Aub really was a workaholic.
With strain on his marriage it came as no surprise that he began to sway a little, he spent a lot of time at work and around his colleagues...primarily one female in particular. She was younger than him, a pretty blonde thing who worked as a receptionist in the practice he was employed at. And so, an illicit affair began between the two of them, behind Carmen’s back. Aubrey had never seen himself as the kind of person to be unfaithful but he was absolutely miserable in his marriage, he felt that all he did was give and it was never enough for his family. Rachel made him feel good about himself; there was no drama with her everything was just simple and he liked that.
Funnily enough, even though he loved Carmen with all his heart...he didn’t feel guilty about his affair. He felt nothing in actual fact, which scared him because it bought up a whole lot of doubt. Surely, he couldn’t love his wife that much if he was able to sleep with another woman and not just that one time but over and over again for god only knew how many months now and he had no desire to stop. He was playing a dangerous game but It was exciting and that was something his life lacked.
He was able to keep up the pretence at work and continued working alongside Rachel as if nothing had happened or was happening. Unfortunately, his lying copped him out. Aubrey had told that many lies that he really was unable to keep up with them all himself. Sure enough Carmen found out and everything went downhill from there. His affair got out resulting him Rachel losing her job and he being forced to resign. Carmen forbade him from seeing his kids and sure enough quickly filed for divorce. He’d gone from having it all...to having absolutely nothing. Eventually he was able to see his children thanks to court agreement, but not as much as he’d wanted and both Carmen nor Rachel wanted anything more to do with him. With that, he realised there was nothing more for him in New York and left to find a new life elsewhere. California seemed ideal.

Sample RP-
A loud gasp escaped the man's mouth, inhaling all of a sudden as he tried to catch his breath. Wide, startled blue eyes blinked, vision blurred as the man came too. He'd been lying in this bed for seven weeks, seven long weeks, whilst the world continued on without him. For some time he’d been touch and go, which was none surprising due to the wreckage he’d been pulled out of. That’s what you got for drunk driving. Aubrey had been in a rut, but it was no excuse for his irresponsible behaviour. He could have killed someone, he could have killed himself. The man lay perfectly still, blinking simultaneously as he tried to rid himself of blurred vision. He was lying down, peering up at the white tiled ceiling above him. He couldn't hear anything, just a dull beeping sound in the background with his surroundings but nothing more.
His throat felt dry, his body ached as he continued to lay there trying to come to grips with what had happened. The man blinked a few times, releasing tears from his eyes that gently rolled against his cheeks. He was awake now, seven weeks of being in a coma and he was finally awake. Of course, the man had no idea where he was or how he had gotten here because he’d blacked out at the wheel. In fact, he wasn't really sure of anything right now.
Several moments passed before the blurred vision subsided. Aubrey's breathing steadied as he finally caught his breath. Letting his head roll to the left of him, his blue gaze narrowed on the side table next to his bed. The side table was covered in get well cards. Aubrey inhaled sharply, turning his head to the right to see himself hooked up to a ventilator. The man furrowed his brows, scanning the motor with his eyes to view his vitals...he was doing find. Once more drawing his eyes to the ceiling the man breathed deeply.
Aubrey let his hands curl the shits around him, gripping them tightly for a moment as he began to get the feeling back in his arms. His legs were numb right now, with no surprise since they hadn't been used for seven weeks and everything had begun to stiffen up. His mobility would be hindered for a little while, how long? No one could say, least of all Aubrey who still had no idea how long he'd been here.
Slowly the man began to sit up, he groaned in agony as he felt his body awaken. There was a dull aching that throbbed down the man's spine, sending a shooting pain in each leg. He gritted his teeth to bare the pain as he finally managed to sit up. His back flopped against the raised pillows and headboard of his hospital bed. He'd sat up, that was already some progress. Once more, his legs still felt numb and the man was unable to move his toes. He ran his hands down the sheets and ripped them back seeing his legs just lying there in front of him...but he couldn't feel a damn thing.
This was weird, difficult and because of that the man began to get impatient. He prodded at his legs, and still felt nothing. He continued to do so, getting harsher each time before erratically pounding his fists against his legs hoping that he'd feel it. He didn't. Aubrey became distraught, the idea of never walking again surely didn't settle well with him. The man buried his hands in his face and wept a little, this was unbelievable. Once dropping his hands from his face, he pulled the cord next to his bed and began shouting for a nurse...he couldn't move, he had no idea what the hell was going on and he wanted answers.
Aubrey’s eyes narrowed to his door, no nurse came. He figured they were probably busy, so he gave it another shot, calling out once more only to be ignored again. He furrowed his brows, shaking his head some as he did. He'd have to go find his own help, because this wasn't getting him anywhere. The man sat up again, using his hands to try and lift his weight so he could turn sideways and climb off the bed himself. It took three attempts before he finally managed to pivot his body around, now letting his legs hang over the bed and his body face the window where the blinds were still down.
A little light beamed through the gaps in the blinds in front of him. His eyes scanned the side table again, no longer focusing on the cards but the framed photo that sat amongst them. Aubrey leant forward and picked it up. He held the photo in front of himself, letting his eyes fixate on the image, his hand gently grazing the glass as a sad smile enveloped his mouth. This was his family; his son, his daughter, his...ex-wife and he. They all looked happy, but he knew that happiness had a long time gone now. He was here, alone.
Aubrey closed his eyes tightly, he'd missed them a whole lot. He wished they were here right now, to see him awake like this...but they weren't. He was grateful to be awake because of them and though he knew Carmen would act as if she didn’t care, she did. He may not have been conscious this whole time, but a quick glance around the room told the man that she had been here.
