So things around here have been getting out of hand on a lot of fronts. I'm not here to discuss any current drama or start up any old debates. That isn't what this post is for. This is only to remind you of something we seem to be leaving behind, and we need to catch it and cherish it before we lose sight of it completely.
Has anyone else noticed that Eclipse is no ordinary RP site? I've been RPing for over 3 years now and I've never seen anything like the community we've built here. Maybe it's just me, but I come here when I'm feeling low because I know someone, whether they realize it or not, will be able to make me laugh. I can't say how much I've needed that lately. And I know I'm not the only one here who's found this.
And there's more. I've run to others when I needed to vent, and offered an ear (eye?) when others needed to do the same. There are things that most of you know about me that even my RL friends have no idea of. Did you know that a few people here have actually kept me from committing suicide? Who the hell does that on the Internet? You are some amazing people, and I don't know why you care, but you do. We care about each other, we've all made incredible bonds among the membership here. Some chat on Skype, some follow each other on Tumblr, some enjoy terrorizing each other's Facebook pages. (Btw, some of you may or may not have photos of boobies on your Walls right now.) But across the board, we've found something special that isn't worth jeopardizing over what is, at the end of the day, only a game.
We'll argue. We'll have different points of view on the plot and awards and people's characters and how things turn out. It's because we're all so different, which is amazing and wonderful when you consider it. But there should never be anything done on this site that should cause you to endanger the strongest bonds you've made here. Friends don't split up over a thread.
So as we work together and wade into this next (awesome) wave of plot, please remember what is worth more, the stuff we do here that will fade in time, or the friendships we've made that could last indefinitely. I dunno about anyone else, but I'm not into losing y'all when I've finally found a group of people I connect with. So if you have drama, please take it up immediately with the person it concerns, whether friend or foe. And consider their reactions before you do. We have some really sensitive and insecure (sorry, don't mean it negatively) players here, which I srsly don't get because you're all amazing as hell, but it is what it is.
Our words and actions among each other may hurt at times, but the pain will fade, trust me on that. Don't let it come between you and the people you care about here.
Please feel free to comment here if you want, but if anyone mentions any specific site issues or takes any shots at other players, I'm going to have a mod delete your post. Do all that in pops, please.
And now, having said my piece, I present a goofy!Marshall.
