Zoey was taking the bus to work today, it was a nice day. She had been busy with the Nursery Rhyme killings lately, but things were going good, no organization was after her, she didn't have to hide anymore, she had her own room rather than sleeping at hotels now, and she kinda had a girlfriend, which was both weird and scary at the same time.
She took a seat, she could sense electronics, through her power, but she was successfully learning to stop reading everyone's thoughts, it was invading others peoples thoughts, at least to her.
One of the passengers next to her, got up and went to the front to talk to the driver, then after he whispered something to his ear, he took a seat at the front of the bus.
Zoey was distracted today, but someone next to her started talking a bit bothered.
"Did they close 5th avenue or something?" he asked. "Because this is not the way the bus should be going"
He was right, looking through the window, Zoey realized the bus had took a different direction.
"No, I'm listening to the traffic report and everything is fine there" said an african-american man that was listening to his ipod.
The man sitting near the front of the bus stood up. He was white, tall, had shaved his head and looked damn pissed about something. "All of you shut the hell up, this bus is taking a detour" he opened his trench coat and revealed enough explosives to blow up the Capitol building, all of them connected to him. He took out a gun.
"We are going to pay a visit to the United Nations today" said the man. "And don't try to be heroes, my heart beat goes abnormal and we all go boom"
Zoey tried to use her powers to knock him out and get him to the police, however, her powers were being blocked. It looked that the way out of this one would be different.
It was then that Zoey wished she had took the subway.
OOC: The guy with the bomb is a power blocker. So yeah...

Grace had come back to NY for a few days after spending a good few in Vegas. To be honest she absolutely despised her new location, the place really wasnt her type of scene and the people who were apart of her team well..they werent to favourable either, particularly Allison. Whom, of which she was still bitter about being recruited. What a bitch.
She'd been off to stop at the hospital first to see her doctor. She could have very well gone to see the company doctor or one in vegas but she was still keeping all of the things she was going through on the quiet. The last thing she needed was the company rustling in on her life and using it as an excuse for her to be incapable of doing the job. She knew, yes, maybe one day this would bite her in the ass and if it did, she'd deal then..but right now, as far as they were all concerned. She was fine.
Public transport was never anything she was fond of but she hadnt yet been to the car rental place. She'd simply got back, got home, dropped off some things and gone straight to the hospital. She was heading to go see Michael at the watchers building.
Grace sat near the window gazing out, in her own world really, something she'd been doing a lot of lately. She always had something going on in that head of hers. She could hear people talking but generally ignored them, it was just bus banter, no biggie.
"All of you shut the hell up, this bus is taking a detour"
Grace's attention was shortly grabbed by the rather abusive man standing up. Turning her eyes from the window toward him she found herself regretting getting on this bus. The man opened his large coat to reveal a mass of explosives tightly wrapped around himself. With no surprise an uproar of panic emerged. She kept her eyes on him watching as he took out a gun, like the bombs werent bad enough?
"We are going to pay a visit to the United Nations today..And don't try to be heroes, my heart beat goes abnormal and we all go boom"
Rolling her eyes she gave a heavy sigh, what was with this god damn city lately? people were dropping like flies. It was bad enough without them adding to it, it made her pretty mad and if he hadnt had so many explosives on his back she'd have happily knocked him down a peg or two with her fists.
Watching him she kept her hands hidden behind the seat infront, lifting her hand slightly she attempted to use her ability to knock him backward, however she was unpleasantly surprised when her powers didnt work.
So now she was just as defensless as everyone else on this bus. Why the hell did she take the bus today? the weather was fine..she should have walked.
Bowing her head slightly she shook it in disbelief, it was typical. Grace was forced to look at the elder woman beside her, she was certainly discomforted by this whole ordeal and had began crying, thing was this guy was insane and he'd probably happily kill this woman on the spot. She'd have to calm her down, if she couldnt be the hero and save them then she'd happily allow herself to keep the situation calm and prevent any fatalities.
Lifting her hand slightly she bowed her head looking at the woman "It's gonna be okay" she whispered forcing a smile, oh sure it was gonna be fine, this guy was ready to blow the shit out of them all and her powers didnt work.

It'd been one hell of a past couple of weeks. Sam had gotten a new partner at the Company, whom he didn't get along with in the slightest. Their relationship was definitively abusive. Just as things began to cool down between he and Janet, Sam then got to formally meet her boyfriend, who just so happened to be the asshole who had not only delivered a dead carcass to Pacy's office, but also picked bits of the body out of his teeth. Seriously... you couldn't this shit up. The dysfunctional aspect of last few weeks of Sam's life were somewhat amusing, if he didn't think about them too much, it didn't really settle in and bother him.
On this particular day, Sam was riding one of the numerous busses in Manhattan on the East side. He was on his way to meet an old friend at a museum and hadn't felt like taking the Subway or a taxi cab. Thus, Sam opted for the only other method of transportation amidst the chilliness of the the Autumn air, and succumbed to horridness of the New York bus system. As he sat within the hard plastic seat, Sam could feel himself drifting into a half-sleep as he alternated between staring at the back of a young, black haired woman's head and the people they were passing on the sidewalk.
As Sam dosed in an out of consciousness, he could hear a commotion break out on the bus. Great... Just what he needed. Without saying a word, Sam held his eyes closed and attempted to see what was happening through the noises of the bus. However, nothing came, and Sam couldn't see anything. What the hell? Someone on the bus, must've been a blocker, it was the only thing that would make sense. Attentively, Sam sat further upright in his seat, and opened his eyes to look around. Ahead of him was a white guy who looked pissed as all hell. To make matters worse, the guy was packing explosives strapped to his chest and was wielding a gun.
As he spoke about making an unscheduled stop at the United Nations, Sam scoffed lowly. Awesome... just what he fucking needed today. With a soft sigh, Sam rolled his eyes as he moved a hand to the inside of his coat. This day just kept getting better. Despite not being required to carry a firearm as a special with the Company, Sam often chose to. Though of course, today would be the day he'd forgotten it. Lowly, the young man spoke, as he shifted in his seat. "Are you fuckin' kidding me? Only thing we need now is Keannu Reeves and Sandra Bullock and we'll have a grade A action movie..."

Juliet was taking the bus to class at university just like every other day. Sitting near the back of the bus she was tensed up, head phones plugged in her ears to try take her mind off anything else around her. The blonde hated public transport with a passion but it was the easiest and cheapest way to get to class, unfortunately we all had to make some sarcifices for living away from home. But her fear wasn't because of an enclosed space or any form of agoraphobia but because being in a confined space with numerous people and her having her icy ability meant someone could get hurt. She wasn't in the streets, if something or someone froze she couldn't run away from her problems, she'd be forced to face them and that was something Jules avoided at all costs. Nonetheless she was on this bus and so far her mind was calm, her ability controlled.
Voices were muffled behind the beat of her music as she watched out of the window but she too noticed what someone had just voiced. This wasn't the usual route. What was going on? Roadworks? Highly likely she guessed. There were always roadworks going on somewhere in such a big city. It was nothing to worry about.
At least that was what logic told her until a rather fierce looking man caught her attention as he stood up at the front of the bus. Juliet tried not to look to conspicuous as she watched him from her seat. Pulling one of her headphones out of her ear she was just in time to hear his statement as he opened his trench coat to uncover explosives and a gun. What the hell?! "All of you shut the hell up, this bus is taking a detour"
"Oh no...no, no, no...I cant be here" she muttered to herself in a bit of a panic. She'd freeze something or someone any time now, her heart beat was quickening, getting herself into a fluster, she wouldn't be able to hide the truth if she froze something in front of all these people. Why this bus? Of all the buses he had chosen, why the one she was on?! If his heart beat went abnormal?! What if hers did first! "Are you fuckin' kidding me? Only thing we need now is Keannu Reeves and Sandra Bullock and we'll have a grade A action movie..."
A man spoke as Juliet took her headphones out of her ears in a restless panic muttering away again, "Yeah, a blockbuster movie at this rate, more like The Day After Tomorrow" slight exaggeration but she was severely panicking now that she would freeze this bus or worse, someone in it. Her mind too captivated by worry and irrational thoughts she pressed her hands forcefully down on her seat, she waited for that familiar and oh so wanted freeze to spread through her yet nothing happened. Ironically she wondered why her powers werent working. That shouldn't have happened. Lifting her hands from the seat she glanced at them. They felt tingly...like you'd been in the cold and come in somewhere warm...but the temperature hadn't changed as far as she was aware...this was wrong...something was very wrong and for the first time the absense of her ability actually worried her.

Luke was in between buses on his way to the airport, the game and subsequent events of the night had been nice, but reality was knocking back on his door and he needed to get to La Guardia airport to catch his flight.
It seemed like a nice day and last night he had dreamed about that Indiana Jones scene where the rock was pursuing him so he took that as a bad omen and decided to take a bus instead of the subway, then all hell broke loose.
People were pissed, and this guy with the gun and the explosives seemed like he didn't care about killing anyone, or dying for that matter. Luke knew then that it was his precognitive powers that got him today to this bus and that in some way or another he was meant to save all the people here.
He looked around, the terrorist aimed the gun at the driver. "If this bus stops, or if I see any of you making a call, I'll make sure you get a nice hole in the head" said the man. "That goes to you too funny man"
That last comment had been meant for Sam, his comment about Keanu Reeves apparently not impressing the guy with the gun. "So let's all have a nice ride and I'll promise I'll make this quick and as painless as I can, alright?" he said menacing.

Sam laughed ever so slightly as the young woman beside him spoke about their situation being made into a blockbuster movie. From Sam's experience, it was best to try and make light out of a stressful situation. His ex-partner, Harry had taught him that it helped to make situation less difficult. More importantly, it allowed for a more fluid type of thinking that wasn't bogged down by personal worries and fears. In the absence of fear, the mind was able to take over and utilize a sense of primal instincts. Thus, a person was able to do whatever was necessary.
Today, however, most people seemed to be ignoring their primal instincts. People on the bus were beginning to panic, the young woman beside him, being one of him. A sense of nervousness was definitely clear in her voice. With a small smile, Sam turned his head slightly to the young blonde and continued to speak jokingly in an attempt to ease her nerves. "I'm not sure if I could deal with Jake Gyllenhall though... He's a bit boring if you ask me." It was all he could muster at the moment, for Sam was still trying to think about what was going on. He doubted this terrorist would blow up the bus before they got to the United Nations... There was no real point in blowing up a few dozen people on a bus, or so Sam hoped.
As he sat there, Sam muttered to the young woman beside him again. "Every-thing's gonna be alright. Just take it easy." When he finished talking, Sam looked up to acknowledge the guy with the bomb strapped to his chest. He was amidst making more threats and aiming the gun at the driver, when he seemed to single Sam out. Apparently, he didn't find Sam amusing, and as the guy threatened him, Sam had to forcefully stop himself from making another comment. He wasn't about to get anyone killed. For now, Sam sat there in his cold plastic seat and waited. Sooner or later, something was bound to happen, he just had to be ready when the time came. In the mean time though, Sam opened his hand slowly in an attempt to release a small vibration. Yet, nothing happened. Again, he repeated the process, and still no response. What the hell was going on here?

Whilst Grace had took silence she noted that some of the other passengers werent that smart in the sense and began causing problems, making comments much so to the gun toting hijackers dislike.
He looked around, the terrorist aimed the gun at the driver. "If this bus stops, or if I see any of you making a call, I'll make sure you get a nice hole in the head" said the man. Grace trawled her eyes back to the woman beside her who had been completely over whelmed by fear. God, she wanted to kick this guys head in so badly right now, he was lucky her powers didnt work cause she'd waste no time. She really didnt understand this type of person, the type who would willingly put himself in this position, hurt a lot of people and including himself for what? a slot in the 9'o'clock news.. what a fucking moron.
"That goes to you too funny man" She bought a comforting hand to the womans and turned her head slightly when the man singled the 'funny man' out from everyone else. As her eyes turned toward him she recognised this guy. He was a company agent. Grace had half hoped he bought his gun with him, she wasnt to keen on fire arms in the past but now, well she had hers secure in her purse at all times. With this whole thing involving Allison, Grace had become very guarded within her own personal protection, even though shooting her colleague and ex best friend had been way out there..she was ready to take any action against her.
If only she could get to her purse, but sudden movement, god knows what this guy would do. She didnt wish to test him. Grace glanced around the bus which her gaze once more falling on the dark haired girl, Zoey. She knew this girl also had abilities, she'd met her a very long time ago during the attack on the company lead by Justin Marvalo. She had not seen this woman since a brief meeting along with Jack Murdock.
"So let's all have a nice ride and I'll promise I'll make this quick and as painless as I can, alright?" he said menacing.
Turning her gaze back to the gunman she glared at him. It was the worse feeling in the world. To know that you could easily do something in situation like this, to save all those people that sat beside you but because of how it stood she was useless and she was sure that the other two and god knows who ever else on this but who also had abilities felt the same.
It made her see that without her powers she'd be lost. She'd be pushed back to use old methods of approaching and actually have to fear for her own life before taking such methods. Taking a deep breath she bit her lip and looked sympathetically toward the older lady again.
Grace's attention was drawn to a man on the back row. His panic had clearly gotten to much and upon turning her head she watched as he dived from his seat and bounded down the aisle of the bus heading right for the terrorist.
She simply couldnt help herself and jumped up from her own seat in a bid to get the man to sit the hell down. She managed to grab his arm and tug him backward but something told her that he was pretty much dead where he stood. Watching him he had stopped but was frantic with his words, panicking and trembling in fear.
Turning her eyes toward the terrorist, she knew full well what he was going to do. He was serious about this and there was no way he was going to let this one slide, this man was done for and all she could do was watch.

It was good to be back in New York again. The airy scent of deep fried hotdogs had lured him back. Only in New York he quickly reminded himself. It truly was remarkable how you would never find things in New York anywhere else in the world. The clouds vanished from the day and turned it into a glorious sunshine filled afternoon. Such weather would usually make David grunt but nothing could upset his spirits today.
David stadled his guitar case on his back and tried to find a more comfortable seating position. You see David's first day back in New York he had a jam session down at his usual lounge bar. Blues and Jazz, nothing could make me feel better His thoughts echoed his personal opinion. His appearance seemed to match a fashionable hobo. His cloths were all new but the didn't seem to go together. He wore a tuxedo jacket with an I Love New York t-shirt underneath along with black slacks and a pair of sneakers for good measure.
Admitadly David's appartment was a hefty distance for him to travel on feet and so instead he always took the bus as a casual means to fit in. Usually on these excursions David would analyse the behaviours of people from the back and guess there greatest fear dependent on the results he had. Today however was quite different. Same bus, same time but wrong stop point, no in fact the bus kept moving as if the rooute itself had become twisted. Before he had the chance to get off the bus he realised the problem.
Someone stood at the helm of the bus demanding respect. A slightly audible chuckle came from his lips as he bowed his head down. Am I supposed to be scared of him He asked himself with ease. Not a lot frightened David and all he knew was that if he were to die now then he could say he lived his life to the fullest, but if they survived then David could get that small window that was '15 minutes of fame' He tugged his head up to lear at the stranger
"We are going to pay a visit to the United Nations today and don't try to be heroes, my heart beat goes abnormal and we all go boom"
Those words set David on his verge of his phsycho analysis of the man. Clearly he felt the UN had caused him harm, or maybe someone in particullar who works there. If he had a bomb on him then obviouslly he is willing to risk his life for this possibly petty disagreement, but if it was a bluff then he was prepared to go to jail for it.
"So let's all have a nice ride and I'll promise I'll make this quick and as painless as I can, alright?"
Time to break my silence.
"How do we know your not bluffing" He said with a pokerface. "Sure anyone can bluff but how do we know the bomb works." A smile appeared on his face

Zoey turned when this old guy started talking, was he for real? Did he just asked the guy with the bomb to prove that the bomb worked? What the hell was his problem, did he wanted to get all of them killed?
The terrorist apparently thought the same as she did. "Do you think I just freaking kidnap buses with a toy bomb? Are you retarded?"
He grabbed his gun and went to where the guy was, taking a punch at him with the holster of his gun. It looked like a painful punch. "Alright, next time any of you have another retarded question, some one else will get shot alright?"
Someone else? Thought Zoey, he hadn't shot anyone yet, what the fuck did he mean someone else? Suddenly the guy with the gun turned around and aimed his gun at an old guy that was sitting somewhere in the middle shooting him in the leg.
Zoey closed her eyes when she heard the gun shot, it seemed this guy wasn't afraid of killing people, which really, really sucked, she started to wonder how they were going to get out of this one alive.
If they killed him he would still explode, it seemed like a lose-lose situation. Zoey thought about Andy back home and she hoped someone could help them, she tried thinking about people powerful enough to help her. Harrison Mosley came to mind, Danny Wallace, they could take care of him without getting close so that the blocker would stop their abilities, but it seemed like there was no way they could alert them, not without her powers.
She took her cellphone slowly, she hadn't manually used her cellphone in a long time, she started typing a message, but she just wasn't fast enough without her powers.

Juliet turned to the voice of the man beside her. Boring she’d gladly take right now over this dramatic event. Why was her ability not working? Her mind was preoccupied with the thought, something she’d never had thought she’d ever be thinking. For someone who hated her secret she sure as hell wasn’t acting in that way. It was only now that she realised she liked her safety barrier, without it she was just a regular citizen, she was just as apt to be injured – or worse! – as any other person and there wasn’t a thing she could do about it to defend herself. The passenger’s voice sounded quietly again. Jules involuntarily shook her head. Was it really going to be alright? So far nothing was right, “No...something’s not right here” she whispered, “there’s more going on here...” she speculated glancing alerted eyes around the bus at the passengers. Was something doing this? Her ability was part of her, it wouldn’t disappear and Jules had come to terms with that recently no matter how much she thought she wanted to be normal, so why was she defenceless?
An older man spoke up. Did he have a death wish?! Accusing the man strapped up with a bomb of bluffing?! Asking if it did indeed work?! What the hell?! What did he want? A preview?! And yet the man smiled as he asked his question. Absolutely fantastic! Not only were they in a bus with a bomb strapped maniac but in addition they had to have the outspoken, overly confident person too. Oh god, they were all gonna die...Was this karma? Was she finally to suffer for her past crimes now?
In silence she watched every movement that was made; the man’s grasp around his gun, his controlled and powerful movements towards the man who’d previously spoken and concluding with a harsh hit across the head. Instinct made Jules turn her head sharply to the side as the gun holster met the man’s flesh. Someone else will get shot? But no one had been shot. The blonde turned to look up just in time to see the man’s finger press the trigger on his gun. The bullet hurled through the air at lightening speed then penetrated through the skin and muscle of a man’s leg. Juliet jumped at the noise of the gun, grabbing hold of the man’s arm beside her out of fear then equally as fearful pulled her hands instantly off him with panic filled eyes. A habit of hers. Maybe it was a good thing she didn’t have powers at this moment with her haywire emotions. But then if she had her ability maybe they wouldn’t be stuck powerless in this bus.
A pained cry escaped the man who was shot and after her fear had subsided from her first hit of shock she shuffled in her seat, half making to stand up. She may be studying forensics but her course involved the human body, forms of attack and wounds, she knew enough to be able to help but if she moved...what would be of her if she moved? Biting down on her bottom lip she inhaled a sharp breath feeling indecisive and for the first time in a long time, helpless.

Sam nearly choked when he heard the older guy call out to the gunman and basically taunt him. There was a bomb, strapped to this terrorists chest... how the fuck could you not believe that he didn't intend to use it. This wasn't some damn safety drill. Not that the city of New York would do such a silly thing anyway. This was real, and even though Sam was keeping relatively calm, he wasn't one for sheer stupidity. Who in their right mind would honestly ask someone if the bomb strapped to their chest, actually worked? As Sam watched the guy barrel down the center of the aisle, he thought about moving to help him, but stopped. If the guy got shot it'd be his own damn fault. He had antagonized a guy with a bomb strapped to his chest and was going to deal with the repercussions. One man's life wasn't worth the entire buses.
However, what came next left Sam fairly unnerved. In the silence of the bus that came from the terrorists assault on the idiot, the sound of a gunshot rippled through the air. The screams of horror and groaning from the victim that came next were expected. Still, Sam didn't move. The young man eyed the nervous blonde beside him who had gripped his arm tightly and then released her hold. She'd said that something wasn't right here, which Sam surely didn't doubt. The entire situation was fucked.
As the situation on the bus died down, the only sound left audible was the man groaning in pain. Right now there was nothing that could be done. If he was closer Sam might've been able to fashion a tourniquet around the wound, but right now, as a company agent, he felt as though he was one of the only capable ones on the bus and he couldn't risk taking the guy with the bomb down when the time came for it. Yet, as he thought this over in his head, the young blonde woman beside him seemed to have other ideas. Partially, she shifted in her seat and stood ever so slightly. As she sat back down and breathed deeply, Sam placed a hand on her arm gently in an attempt to portray some reassurance, before whispering softly. "Are you trying to get shot too? Just sit still for now..."

God-freaking-dammit.
Couldn't he go one fucking day using public transportation without having some looney threatening to shoot him or blow him up, or whatever other dumbfuck things people in this city did for entertainment?
And who the hell was this idjit taunting the guy with the bomb and practically asking him to prove that it worked. given Conall couldn't see much from where he was sitting in the back of the bus, but it wasn't like he really had to see anything to understand what was going on.
He did hear a couple of familiar voices rising up in the crowd. Zoey, for one. But he'd pester her later. Or maybe he'd try to comfort her if she were scared. Hey, he might be able to cop a feel out of it, and after having had to get a series of rabies shots after she'd decided to unleash a dog on his ass (quite literally), she owed him.
Another voice filtered back to the end of the bus where he was seated. "Are you trying to get shot too? Just sit still for now..."
Oh, for fuck's sake . . .
It was Janet's partner. Sam. He wondered if Janet would actually miss her partner if he "accidentally" got shot. Probably not.
"Y'know, if yeh wanna shoot someone, yeh can start with 'im." Conall pointed at Sam, smiled, and waved. Eh, he would have gotten up to give Sam a hello, which would have included a pink cast being kicked repeatedly into the other man's nuts (because he could), but he couldn't be arsed to move. Trying to get around in a bus with a pair of crutches while trying to dodge old bag ladies was practically impossible. "An', Sam, if we make it through this, I'll be decent an' buy yeh a pint after kickin' yeh in th' arse."
Under usual circumstances, being threatened with imminent death would have frightened him.
Wait.
No it fucking wouldn't have.
"So what kind of explosives are yeh usin'? TNT, RDX, PETN, nitroglycerin . . . nah, prob'ly not nitro or else we would've been blown sky high by now." He chewed the inside of his cheek. He didn't know much about explosives beyond their names and what they were made out of. His family members who'd sided with the IRA had made bombs and the like out of various household substances; he'd just picked up on the lingo.
The sound of a gunshot rang out. From where he was sitting tucked away in a corner in the back of the bus, he couldn't see who'd been shot. He only knew it wasn't him. The sound of the bullet ricocheted off of the metal walls of the bus and he heard the bullet embed itself somewhere in the floor of the vehicle.
"Christ, dude, it was just a fuckin' question. No need t' shoot anyone over it."

"How do we know your not bluffing..Sure anyone can bluff but how do we know the bomb works."
The first thing that sprung to mind was what a total jackass. Why the hell would someone even think of that let alone saying it?. Snapping her head around she eye balled him with total annoyance, god if this man didnt shoot this guy she would have no problems doing it herself..
"Y'know, if yeh wanna shoot someone, yeh can start with 'im."
That oh so familiar voice sent a cold shivver down her spine. It wasnt?..she turned her head again, oh it was..great. With a grunt she suddenly saw her life flash before her eyes, with him and that idiot on the bus they were surely doomed.
Bringing her hand to her temple she rubbed it slightly, shaking her head in utter disbelief. Her attention was soon drawn byt the loud gun fire. Grace fliched quickly, almost knocking the poor dear next to her out of her seat. Watching the injured man she soon turned her gaze back to the terrorist. He definitely wasnt bluffing. Not that she had doubted him but maybe the other guy would shove a cork in it now that he'd seen the seriousness of it all.
"Christ, dude, it was just a fuckin' question. No need t' shoot anyone over it."
Conall spoke again. She turned her gaze toward him once more. The terrorist had his back facing her now and with all the distraction it proved easier for her to get into her purse. She kept her eyes on him and slowly slipped her hand into her bag. Fishing around for a few moments she never once moved her eyes from him, she was alert and making sure he didnt see her.
Finally she got her gun, hastily bought it up and shoved it inside her coat pocket before anyone could see. There eyes were preoccupied by the scene anyways as was the terrorist. She probably wouldnt use the gun, maybe not need to but if so she would.
Grace also knew that if she shot this man he'd likely explode. Only with him dead her power would work and she could keep the explosion to a minimal, or atleast use her force field to by time for everyone to escape before the whole thing went up in smoke.

"Are you trying to get shot too? Just sit still for now..."
Juliet looked sharply at the man beside her. He was right and she wouldnt deny that, not even to herself, but that man needed help. You didn’t just get shot and were automatically fine! Even if you did have some weird crazy power that made you invincible, which considering what she’d witnessed since arriving in New York she had little doubts of. But here and now she wondered if that would work...her powers weren’t so why would anyone else’s? The blonde actually found herself wishing Gwen Matthews was here, the one person who knew in definite of her ability, who could tell her if there was some block or if it was just Juliet alone.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake...”
The voice startled Jules went rigid...no...no it couldn’t be...not him...They’d only met on a few brief yet undesirable encounters but his voice was like fingernails down a blackboard, so piercing in amidst the American accent, much like hers did but the English girl barely uttered words often enough for her voice to be as memorable as this crude eejit behind them. Out of all the buses she could have gotten on this morning this one was seeming to be the worst choice and the reasons were just flowing in!
"Y'know, if yeh wanna shoot someone, yeh can start with 'im."
Sam, she looked at the man beside her identifying his name to him before turning around to look over her shoulder at the man she’d hoped not to see, her hopes were crushed, that familiar man from the club that night, Conall she’d caught his name at some point. “Why him when there’s you that can be shot first? We both know you're not exactly going to help this situation” she retorted in a fierce whisper without thinking and immediately wishing she’d kept quiet. Shy, reserved Juliet always seemed to pick the wrong times to find her confidence and this situation was no different.
Oh fantastic! The arrogant ass was now making free conversation with their captor who rather insignificantly had a BOMB attached to him! Not to mention a loaded gun that already he’d proven he was not scared to use! This was surely the best to time strike up a conversation! Juliet clenched her teeth behind her closed lips, frustrated at having to sit here while a man was bleeding and suffering for a gunshot wound that needed tending to while everyone was either too scared to move or questioning the most dangerous person here without even a second thought at the seriousness of this situation. Never once in a blue moon had Juliet Devereaux thought she’d react this way in a bus hold up, being the one who wanted to help, knowing someone had to if no one else was going to stand up and volunteer but she couldn’t. No matter how much she wanted to that adrenaline of hers was purely just fear and it prevented her making a physical move, that and Sam next to her.

Sam nearly choked on his own tongue when he heard his voice. He'd know that voice anywhere. The blunt tone made it all too distinct. Was he really this unlucky? Was Conall, of all people really on this bus right now? Not only did they one moron, they now had two. Hopefully, Conall would learn from the other guy's mistake and not antagonize the terrorist too badly. Though, it looked as though he'd spoken too soon. Just that very moment, the idiot behind him had told the terrorist to shoot Sam instead. Slightly, the young man sighed and rolled his eyes. For fuck's sake already...
Just as he was about to retort, the young blonde beside him spoke up instead. With a slight smile he looked to the woman and offered her a nod in thanks. With his head against the cold plastic seat of the bus, Sam spoke out to Conall. "Just shut the fuck up, Conall." With his eyes closed, Sam kept still as he tried to think. His echolocation still didn't work and it pained him. Ever since his powers had manifested, they'd become a vital part of his life. Essential to living and a crutch if you would. With a slight sigh, Sam opened his eyes and muttered to himself. "Dammit..."
As he sat there, Sam tapped slightly against his knee. The young man began to wonder if he was the only one whose powers were off. Maybe it was just him? The only way to know would be to tell Conall, but he couldn't just have an open conversation on a public bus about it... And there was the whole terrorist thing still going on. With his iPod in his hand, Sam ran his thumb over it. Partially, Sam raised it so Conall could see it. "Y'know that Beach Boys song Conall? The one about the vibes. I can't seem to pick it up on the radio... Poor reception, I guess." It was a crude message... But its all he seemed to be able to think of at the moment. Casually, Sam put the device back in his coat pocket and eyed the blonde slightly. She seemed fidgety, but he wasn't sure about what. For the moment, Sam was only hoping that Conall was half as bright as he claimed to be, so he'd be able to figure out what Sam was talking about. No he didn't like the guy, but as of now, it was all he was able to work with...
