I like Oogies idea, it is a good one, but. And this is a big but, I do not think it is wise to only have one staff person do a specific thing, in case that person gets sick (lets say it is a single app mod) (this example will work only if there was not two of you, so hush, let me use this) Anyways, if that single app mod gets sick, all app reviewing would get slowed down or totally stopped, this could end in newbies leaving out of impatience.

So, I say, sure let's define some roles, but I think all mods should be allowed to do all the things to make sure that somebody can handle it in case of sickness/unavailability/etc.

^ i think the easiest way for people to know who does what could be for us to simply post the staff jobs onto the board for all to see. we have a thread in staff board highlighting who does what on site and who is in charge of which boards etc.

Oh, no, no. I wasn't suggesting each mod do a single job. I just think you might consider reassessing what each mod is responsible for and make that more clearly defined to the members so they know directly who to contact.

For example.

Application Questions:
Direct PM Link to Zyre
Direct PM link to BG

Archiving:
Direct PM link to Gracey

etc etc

Just throwing an idea out there... I want to know what everyone thinks about it.

How does everyone feel about a new OTM category? Couple or Pairing of the Month? Pairing would be good because it wouldn't necessarily have to mean couple.

OTP OTM category gets my approval. Most sites I've seen have it and it's good for rewarding those who work hard on developing IC relationships and sometimes good for a laugh e.g. OTP OTM = Trevor and Hayden ;)

Yeah, I also like the Pairing OTM idea. Definitely something to add to the OTM.

I know this one may be a long shot, but maybe in the future, if these types of threads do well, maybe we could have an Out Of Character Thread OTM, mainly threads for things like graphics, games, journals/thread trackers people make for their characters. Everything that's strictly not RP, but still able to be appreciated all the same.

So, Gracey was just having a discussion in the cbox about how to handle the system of payments that she's got in place for the Company, trying to decide how to best apply it to The Elite, and that got me thinking, why not put something similar in place for all the remaining factions?

Now, let me start by saying that I'm not arguing a case of "If they get money, why shouldn't we as well?". What I'm getting at here is, like Gracey will tell you, the system is working; people are actually getting their assignments completed now more than before. So in that same vein, I think a similar arrangement would be beneficial, especially for the least active fronts like Ark and the RS.

It would be a nice incentive that would not only encourage members to join a faction, but to also be an active part of its life, which is ultimately what you want each time a new faction is made; for the players to get involved.

So, in light of that, I think a system of extra payments set in place for each faction would work very nicely.

I think you should get rid of the aweful membergroup text. The way you guys were talking about it I'm assuming you only had images and no text before. I know a code which you put in the global footer that hides the text beneath account names, but still lets you see it when editing or assigning membergroups.

Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
// Remove member Group from mini-profile..

var mp = document.getElementsByTagName('td');
for(m=0; m<mp.length; m++)
{
if(mp[m].className.match(/windowbg/) && mp[m].width == '20%' && mp[m].vAlign == 'top' && mp[m].getElementsByTagName('img').length > 2)
{
mp[m].innerHTML = mp[m].innerHTML.replace(/<br\/?>(\w+\s?)+/i,'');
}}
// -->
</script>

So yeah....can there be a way to buy property boards in locations that fall under "Rest of the Country/World"? Or is there already...I just kinda hope this is not a redundant question.

I just wanted to second the whole contest for Ark/Jung. Even though there has been one, Req is right about there not being very many of them. I think we need moa! :D

Um, I'm not so sure about this idea, but maybe have a Requested Character thread where members could post a general gist of a character they might need for their plots or to interact. And anyone interested in that character can sign-up as that character. I wasn't so sure about because it sounds like a more in-character version of NPC.

Another idea I had was, with the rise of the RSF and the government taking steps with/against Specials, maybe we could make Washington D.C into a category like how we have New York and California. That way we can have the headquaters as a board, RSF members can have apartments there, and there can be different places of interest in Washington like Lincoln Memorial, the White House, ect.

The announcement about new OOC boards made me think of something I've seen elsewhere, on another site. It's a board that has writing prompts and IC quizzes to get to know your character better, which players can use to help get them into the writing mood or recover their muse. As for me, sometimes this helps and sometimes it doesn't, but it's definitely nice to have. I dunno how many players here would use it, though. So it's just a thought.

I'd like to suggest that we get floor plans for every major factions HQ that doesn't have one yet.
