Code for Posting in the Away Thread

So there isn't any confusion as to why / how long someone will be gone and which characters they play, please use the following code when posting in the Away Thread. If you are posting as Away for someone else, please post their information.

Rules for Posting in the Away Thread

1) Absences posted elsewhere on the board other than in the Away Thread will not be acknowledged. That is why the Away Thread exists; staff does not have the time to check through every topic in the OOC area to hunt down an, "I'm leaving the game for x number of days / I'm leaving the game for good" thread, and not everyone scrolls back through the chatbox to see if someone's mentioned leaving in passing.

2) If you are planning on leaving the game for good, please post here: The Goodbye Thread

3) Your Away message will only be considered good for the time period you have posted. For example, if you know that you will be gone for two weeks and you fail to post after two weeks have passed, the 30 day deadline to post for your character so it will not be inactivated will begin to tick. If you still have not posted within that 30 days, your character will be inactivated, and you will need to reapply.

4) Do not post vague away periods (i.e., "I don't know when/if I'll be back.") Try to make it specific rather than indefinite. By default, if you leave the time period indefinite, your post will be deleted. If you're genuinely not sure how long you'll be gone, just say a few weeks or something.

5) Also, if you're only going to be gone for a few hours or one day, don't post about it here. This is for longer absences (a few days, a week, whatever).

6) If you're going to be away, please can you post any threads you wish to save from archiving here so that they do not get archived. *NEW*

7) If you've signed away and are frequently on CBOX during your away period, your message will be removed. The reason for this is simple, if you have time to be on CBOX then you have time to post. If you just can't be bothered to post, that's your own problem. Unless you have a valid reason for not posting but still being active on CBOX (i can't be bothered to post, is not a valid reason) then you will be treated as though you are still here and thus when archiving is done, your threads will be archived. *NEW*

All of that being said, if you are going to be gone for a while, please post about it here, and only here.

If you're listed on the Away List, you don't have to worry about your character being deactivated.

If you see the name of your character on the list which follows, your character is up for deactivation because you haven't posted for them in the last 30 days.

** Please note that posts made anywhere but in the Away Topic or the IC forums do not count towards your activity. Active RP posts as your character count as being active on the forum. The following categories are considered IC:

- New York
- Las Vegas
- California
- Rest of America
- Places of Interest

The following categories are NOT IC and DO NOT count towards your activity on the board:

- Character Extras
- Out of Character

If you haven't posted IC or RPed for 30 days, but you posted in the OOC forum yesterday, you will STILL be deactivated, so bear that in mind.

If you see your name listed below, start an RP thread or reply to a thread with OPEN in the tagline. Do not come bitch at me for putting you on here and/or deactivating you because I will ignore you. We send out deactivation warnings a few days prior to deactivating people for a reason; it gives them time to start RPing again. Take advantage of it. **

Also, if you post on the Away List and we see you actively participating on either cbox for an extended period of time during which you could be posting, your away message will be forfeit. So consider this fair warning. Away means you're going to be AWAY. It doesn't mean that you're going to be here, but only to chat. Kthx. If people are waiting on your ass to post and they see you chatting away in the cox when you could be moving stuff along, it ticks them off.

Keep that in mind!
